With all the symptoms lyme & its coinfections causes, how do you know when something is an emergency that requires you to go to the ER?

I'm asking because I've been having really bad pressure in the left side of my neck, with chest tightness, with mild pain down my left arm, mild diziness, stinging kind of feeling around my heart area, need to lay down, but I've also felt extremely panicy during these moments so I'm not sure if it's just panic or what. I've been to the ER and doctors so many times and sent home and I don't know what is an emergency anymore!

I think that you should definately go to the E.R. and make sure that they don't send you home until you are stabilized. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon! [Smile]

I wonder the same thing.

I will always advise someone to go to the ER, you NEVER KNOW what will be found.

That being said, I really feel we're on our own.
(especially if you're a woman)

-Just my opinion-

Many times women confuse a heart attack with anxiety, panic attack, indigestion. It soometimes seems to have a different presentation in women.

Unfortunately, since your really can't be certain it's nothing, I think that you'd be better to have a wasted visit than to take a chance with something potentially fatal.

If I had the symptoms you are describing, as much as I HATE to go to the ER, I think I'd have to make myself.

I would get there ASAP. Better safe than sorry when it comes to your heart!

I do hope that it really isn't anything serious & will just be one of those things that passes and they can't figure out what happened.

Please keep us posted.
You'll be in my prayers.

I agree with carly and AliG,

Better to be safe the sorry.

That's what happened to me last month was in the ER twice and was admitted twice.

Was in for a total of 18 days.

I was in the care of my Lyme doc, but still got the questions from the hospitalists about my Lyme.

I would get it checked out, just my opinion.

Best Wishes and keep us updated!
