I have a history of this since I was a teenager. Happened 2x when I was in my teens after I smoked some pot. Passed out and broke my two front teeth.

In 95' I began getting arrythmmias that seemed to be related to swallowing and food.

In 2001 I began getting serious episodes of Vasovagal syncope with swallowing and lifting weights. Close to blacking out but not completely.

I have noticed some rotational vertigo when turning my head. Feels like my spinal cord may be inflamed?

I moved a few days ago and had some episodes of confusion, dizzyness, clammy skin, fatigue, strange feeling down my spine, elevated heart rate etc..after carrying heavy boxes, and particularly after grunting to move heavy furniture. Also strange squeezing sensations in the head. Confusion seems to last for 20-30mins after bending over, heavy lifting etc...No post exertional fatigue. Seems to also happen 10-20 mins after a hot bath. Had all the usual heart tests x 10. Not related to irregular beats but more related to bending over while lifting as I said. Also noticed if I stand in line too long I get anxious and start to feel weak/jumpy at times. Not as bad as when I was really sick, but seems to be coming back a little with the Rifampin.

Anyone have this resolve after treatment? What is the best treatment besides electrolytes, salt water, beta-blockers (not for me), SSRI's (any good?).

I don't seem to get this in the sun anymore which is good news.

Thanks for any input!

My problem is that I have borderline high BP 135/82. In the 140's/90 when active and can shoot up. However, sometimes when I lift heavy furniture or bend over the wrong way or after a bath, I get those clammy spells where I feel disoriented and strange. Not my heart, does not come on with any irregular beats. I normally have a very slow rhythm (55 is average bpm).

It does get better with treatment, beta blockers can certainly help, especially if you have the rapid heartbeat. Zoloft helps, and so does Florinef. Florinef acts on the kidneys to help your body retain fluids and create a higher blood volume, thus, increasing blood pressure.

Other tips...try avoiding all dairy products, avoid heat and prolonged standing. Get up from sitting very slowly! Drink lots of water! Avoid alcohol! Treat your Lyme!!! (best thing you can do)

Heres some info:

It is rare but I thought of Superior Semicircular Canal Dehiscence.

I saw this doctor for vertigo, though not this problem.

A guy on Mystery Diagnosis or a show like that had this.

Thanks for the link. I still find it strange that my BP seems to hover around 138/82 sitting. I would think most people with NMH or vasovagal syncope would have low blood pressure.

I can work out and do not suffer to the degree that I used to. This seems to happen particularly with lifting boxes or furniture and comes and goes. My recent antibiotic change seemed to cause a herx that brought this symptomology back into my life. It was gone for over a year while on Doxy and Zith. Now on Rifampin and Zith for Bart and will soon be adding Doxy back in.

could be when your bending over etc, your vagus nerve gets irritated, thus, triggering symptoms.
