I have had a set back which is normal with lyme and company.

On the other hand, I am trying to figure out what is going on:

1. Is it just the normal thing with lyme and company?

2. Is it because I started having a peace of organic rye toast in the am?? (Going to toss the loaf of bread just in case. )

3. Am I herxing? I stopped meds yesterday to see if that might help but it did not so started back today and don't think I will take the noon meds as I seem to being doing worse today than yesterday.

4. Just wait this out. I tried taking excedrin extra strength which usually helps but it did not today...or perhaps it did...I might be doing worse if I hadn't.

So difficult to figure things out when the brain and the body are working so poorly.

5. For now, all I can think of is to do a better job of getting water down me and some detox tea if the body and brain will talk to each other enough to do so.

And drink the other tea which I can't recall its name.

Thanks for any feedback in advance. Bottom line is this is not as bad as it use to be and I know others are struggling so much more...as I use to be one of them.

kam,

this is what i'm getting out of your above post.

you've not been feeling well the last few days, so you stopped your meds for a day.

ate some bread & feel you got sick from it and throwing away this bread.

restarted your meds today. cognitive is the WORST for you as usual.

you're going to drink lots of water & some tea ....

kam, so sorry you've had hit another POT hole in improving. best wishes my friend; no suggestions; i'm tired & getting off early. back late tonight... [Smile]

Doesn't excedrin have caffeine in it? I am under the impression that is a no-no for us....

hi kam,

sending love to u and rosie, your pup, from me and mine.

it sounds like u were feeling bad (on new meds, is that right?), stopped the new meds briefly, restarted them, and now cognitive and other sx worse?

in that case, sounds like herx to me. i don't think such a short time being off them gives enough info to tell if it's a herx -- not enough time to clear your system.

i would suggest:

call your llmd and ask if this sounds like a herx.

also, either go off them entirely for at least a couple days to see if it's a herx (if you feel better from going off them, you'll know)

OR

reduce your dose of the new meds to about 1/4 what was prescribed and see if your symptoms aren't as bad. if so, slowly ramp up your dose as you can tolerate?

thanksf or the card! sorry i haven't responded. been taking care of gadget, and now very very crashed. but it made me so happy.

gadget is doing well so far.i haven't been up to answering PMs or blogging about his tx, but hopefully when he gets his rest week or goes to every-other-week chemo schedule, i will be able to finally respond to all my patient lymie friends. :-)

If you think you got sick from something you ate, you may need medical attention. Some food-borne pathogens can be very serious and may require specific treatment.

Hope you're feeling better soon, kam!!! Hopefully, it's just a herx.

Take care and let us know how you're doing, OK?

My LLMD suggests benadryl during a really bad herx.

Call your doc in the morning please.

Sending you positive thoughts and prayers.

Hope this passes soon.

Hugs,

Geneal

Thanks. Doing better now. After I saw your post Tutu and Geneal's I recalled I had not been taking the xango.

I had needed to open a new bottle and completely forgot about it.

So, started back on it.

Still don't know what was going on. Thinking it was that head stuff i use to get but it was not as bad this time.

I was in and out of consciousness..or sleep and then in a big fog when not sleeping.

Drove up to a lake yesterday and had the ear popping that goes on with higher elevation.

BEfore the ears popped it kind of reminded me of what was going on in my head while I was bedridden.

Most likely will be bedridden today to help recover from yesterday's outing.

I appreciate your responses. It gets scary when the brain is not even working well enough to figure out what is going on.
