I am in such terrible pain with such an unbearable headache.
I wonder if anyone could share what they take for pain. This would give me a starting point.

I take Dilaudid for pain. I only take it when the pain is unbearable.
I wouldn't suggest taking it as an "everyday" pain reliever.
I have tried Percosets and even Morphine and that didn't even help....
The thing with most pain meds that everyone has to watch out for is the fact that you can become dependent on them....

has herbs for pain. Thier other herbs are good, so maybe this will help. Go to the website and click on "our other cleansers" and scroll down the page. Sorry you are suffering,

I have this sort of headache for several days out of each month. With a lesser headache everyday.
I have found nothing that helps and I have tried a lot. Best isd a hot rice bag rotated with a bag of frozen veggies.
the other day my PCP gave me a shot of Toradol and it worked miracles. Took away my head pain in 20 minutes. Nice relief, but HA was back with a vengence the next day.

The only thing that works is the balance of the right abx tx and cranial sacral therapy and lymph drainage therapy.
Sorry you are dealing with this too. I hope you find something that works.

Roughly once a month, I get 3 - 4 day headaches that are debilitating.
Have tried soooo many pain meds and migraine meds... to no avail.
The only thing that takes the edge off enough that I can semi-function is Butalbital.
You don't want to take this everyday, but I have been taking it as needed for a year - and it has been a life saver
You might ask your doc about this option.

Headaches hmm? Well, it might be good to find out what "kind" of headaches they are. Tension due to muscles? Migranes or cluster headaches caused by vessel issues? Nerve pain?
It may affect what kind of treatment is best for you.
I personally have taken basic opiates (Vicodin/Lortab, Oxycodone(percocet) and just yesterday I was prescribed OxyContin by my new pain management guy. However, my big issues are muscle and joint pain, not headaches. I should mention that even these "take the edge off" for me, not eliminate my pain.

Darvocet for pain, for me. I use it because it is the mildest narcotic, but like most here, it just takes the edge off.
Midrin for migraine type headaches. (icepicks) God bless you.

i've had those headaches so bad i went to the ER. my bp was skyhigh, but dang, they didn't do a blasted thing. i sat there for six hours with NO prescription either. waste of time.
my pain is mostly joint and muscle. so far, no pain meds....nothing seems to touch it.

I take lots and lots of Excederin. I know it is not a good thing to do, but it gives me some relief.
I used to take Maxalt (a prescription med.) for migraines, but for some reason it stopped working.

finding a doctor that is willing to treat the pain is my biggest challenge. So far I have tried darvocet, tramadol, vicodin and those dont do anything,
the only thing I have tried that works is percoset, but you have to be careful.
FInd a good pain doctor ans see if they can help.

I have a good pain management program via my rheumie. I have Darvocet for pain. As the lyme and coinfections have affected my muscles and joints, I am on Lodine, twice a day- a non steroidal antiinflammatory, Zanaflex muscle relaxant twice a day, and Lidoderm pain patches at night for sacral illeac joints. I also use a chiropractor once a week and midrin for migraines and reuseable blue ice packs when the HA kicks in. As per other posts, I would suggest exploring some one in pain management and perhaps alternate health practioners such as chiro to discuss what are options for your particular needs.Best wishes and hope that you find the most effective treatment options soon to alleviate your suffering.
