As some here know.. I have recommended a couple of bug repellents for a number of years.. after trying them all!

One is Permanone.. which is a clothing treatment and KILLS ticks that crawl across treated surfaces.

The other is Avon Expedition, the NON-SCENTED one in the spray can. It also has SPF 30 sun protection... and is a light mist, not oily or nasty. It is NOT the old skin-so-soft that smells to high heaven and is oily.

Please note- I do NOT sell Avon.. and as a matter of fact.. my Avon rep moved and I don't have one now.. which is what caught my eye.

But here is an opportunity for you to get some (it is also nice in a basket of other goodies for holiday presents too)... that will benefit a young patient in need.... made by a very generous lady. Thank you Priscilla Robinson.

BTW- Because there is no profit for the seller and all monies are donated to a sick patient... I don't consider this selling for profit... therefore not breaking the rules here.

Also note- The profits from ALL of the Avon products go to the fund raiser.. I just happen to pick up on the bug repellent aspect. So shop till you drop!

AVON FOR ALEX is a new fundraiser for the Hermstad family.

Alex started showing signs of a mysterious illness more than three years ago and is now on a ventilator and can't speak. Her family continues to look for answers amongst mounting medical costs.

This fundraiser is a token of caring and hope for the family.

All profits from Priscilla Robinson's Avon campaigns C21 (Sept. 16- 30) and C22 (Oct. 1- 14) will go to the Hermstad family.

These sales are open to the public.

Please pick up a book or go online to shop:

http://priscillarobinson.avonrepresentative.com/

If you would like a catalog, please email [email protected] and we will deliver one to you.

Orders must be received by Tuesday, Sept. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 1

Here is the information about the bug repellent I use and recommend... others have scents- so be sure to get the NON-SCENTED. Hunters can use it too without whining they smell too much!

SKIN SO SOFT Bug Guard Plus IR3535 EXPEDITION SPF 30 Aerosol Spray 422-656

Hi Tincup,

Good for you for helping Alex.
I have PM Mike a few times to give some info.
I use the Avon spray and it works great and is safe for kids and babies.
I will go order some more on the link you gave as I am almost out.

I hope this helps as Mike had said the family was at their wits end.

Anyone that can help get a hold of Dr K or Dr W that Gigi knows of let Mike know too as he is looking into alternative treatments as well.
He posted not to long ago about this too.

Stacy

Placed an order for $46; hope it helps.

The repellant doesn't mention ticks; but you said it works against them, right?

Hey, you never have to twist my arm to shop. If I had more money I'd have bought a lot more. I love Avon, and used to sell it.

I am probably the only person who used to LOVE it when kids came around with their fundraisers. Shopping!!!

No more, though...no workey, no money!!! [dizzy]

Tracy---Bless you for ordering no matter how much!!!! Any amount helps. And I think 40.? is a pretty good order!!!!

I could only afford 51.00 right now, but I hope to order more as I think this goes on for a while; not sure.

I am going to post a new thread in hopes of getting more to look and respond to this one. I just pray that there are more orders that were placed that just aren't posted.

I pray that I don't offend anyone!! I just think that this is such a wonderful thing that Tincup and Avon Rep. are doing!

So glad you posted this. I haven't been able to find a bug/sun and it makes it so much easier for the kids!

Thanks,

P.S. I am going to e-mail this to friends and family as well!
