The following day codeine should be stronger than normal because LDN makes the opiate receptors more sensitive (after its out of your system).

If you were to take them at the same time, then the effects of the codeine would be blocked to some degree.

My daughter's pain doctor says you can not do opiates and LDN at the same time.

In fact, he says that if you have done opiates, LDN doesn't work as well as if you have never done opiates.

Can LDN be taken with other medications such as tranquilizers or chemotherapy? How about interactions with alcohol or tobacco?

LDN can be taken along with any other medication or substance, so long as it is not narcotic-containing. Naltrexone is a pure opioid antagonist and it will block the action of narcotics. Some examples of narcotic-containing drugs are Ultram, morphine, Percocet, Duragesic patch and any codeine-containing medication.

Super-low-dose naltrexone is sometimes used along with narcotics. This allows the patient to use much lower doses of the pain med and achieve the same result. The dose of naltrexone, for this purpose, is I believe somewhere around or under 1mg. There are a couple of papers on this.

nomoremuscles,

So can you take low-dose naltrexone for the immune enhancing effect while still using low dose Vicodin, 2.5 mg, as needed for migraines/pain? I'm talking about using the Vicodin, which is an opiate, about 2 to at the most 3 times per week, sometimes less.
