A CT scan shows stable mildly enlarged upper abdomincal lymph node, favoring benign. Continued follow-up would be helpful in confirming this impression. WTH? 'favoring benign'? Is this acceptable? Kind of a scary guess, huh?

Small hepatitic cyst as well (no concerns noted or language beyond these three words).

Is this normal? Do technicians/radiologists just guess and risk one's life or do I have nothing to truly worry about?

radiologist just reads the scan, thats it. then sends to your dr who then needs to corrolate the finding to YOUR health at the time

enlarged lymph nodes: that could go either way. further work up you may talk to your dr about gallium scan to check that out. would be nuclear study. did the report say where they are, or size/ density or clear??

liver cyst: ultrasound is better to take a look at that more closly

if you are having GI infection/ problems would not be overly abnormal for your lymphatic system to be more active in that area.

hope that helps

you should have a dr appt set up to discuss the findings of the CT, and you MD opinion and any further tx/work up.

always be your own advocate!! who else will??

liver cysts are common, obviously not normal. I had three of them, they all were gone on my last abdominal ultrasound.

As for the lymph node, seems like the language there is recommending further investigation.

Best,
FF

Why did you have the scan? You probably mentioned it in another post but I missed it.

I remember you (I think it was you) and I were talking about the lymph nodes in our necks being swollen....correlating it to our severe neck tightness. I know mine isn't from that, but it kind of feels that way.

I have one node in my neck and a bunch in my groin. Went to the doctor again to push for answers about it because it bothers me.

Do you have other nodes swollen? How about the ones in your neck? Groin? The ones in places you can feel?

Sorry you are going through all of this....so much to worry about.
