I recently started taking 1 VSL #3 capsule containg 112.5 billion units daily. So far, this product has been disappointing to me. My stomach has been bothering me more, very gassy, I thought it would improve things. Depressing waste of $48.50. [Frown]

Often the proboitics will make you a little more gassy initially. Maybe even the first month.

Unfortunately we have to help the proboitic with diet, which is what I am having such a hard time with!!

The gas means it is working to re-balance your gut flora. This will happen with any good probiotic if your gut flora is out of balance. The symptom will go away as your gut is repopulated with appropriate bacteria from the probiotic.

Probiotics seem to hurt my stomach as well. I actually do better just eating yogurt. I usually take one probiotic, not too strong, with one small thing of yogurt a day.

I also cut back on sugars and breads. Its a balancing act!

suthern,
My Naturopathic Doctor told me that most yogurts don't have enough probiotic in them to do much good. I think Nancy's is one of the few that is really good.

Personally, I feel that some of the yogurts that say they have active cultures in them work pretty well but they may not have enough of the right strains for our purposes.

Terryk, that is why I also take one good probiotic with it. It just seems like it is easier on my stomach if I eat the yogurt with it. And I just can't seem to take tons of probiotics for some reason.

I know that before I was ill and I would get stomach issues, yogurt always seemed to soothe my stomach.

I think cutting back on sugar and bread is a huge help also.
