Started Biaxin about 5 days ago, and it definitely seems to be killing the bugs. However, I have started getting little red spots, a little smaller than the size of a pea, on my body. They are not raised bumps nor a rash like an allergic reaction.

Has anyone had this experience with red dots. Is there a rash website? Is this related to a specific co-infection. Just curious what is happening. Otherwise Biaxin going well so far.

I would call your doctor. If your doctor uses email, then take pictures and email them.

I get red dots that are pin size. The doctor said it is from the babesia. I didn't start

getting them untill I started treatment. I think they show up with die off. I would

definately check with doc. Best of luck.

I would definitely check with either your doctor or pharmacist.

I know with Rifampin ther's a warning on the information sheet about red spots on your skin being a serious side effect or something like that.

So I'd just play it safe.

This is called petechiae or purpura. It can be allergic. It can also be a sign of vasculitis or bleeding problems, and is sometimes a sign of a reaction to a drug. Calling your doctor is a good idea.

Could also be "cherry hemangiomas". Do a google image search to see the pix.

My doc says they are babesia related.

I woke up with a few of these little dots under my eyes! Will they go away??? Please say yes. I was taking Biaxin and stopped. I couldn't stand it. My doc says I need to continue on it but I just don't think I can.
