I'm in a relapse right now and my LLMD has me starting Augmentin. I've done doxy, ceftin, small bits of Flagyl and tetracycline in the past. I started malerone in June 1 pill a day, and relapsed. I'd like to keep taking the malarone for possible babesia.
Has anyone added abx to malarone with success?
Thanks for your input.

I was already on Alinia and Biaxin when we added Malarone. Malarone is my first true Babesia medication (although there is some thought that Alinia may hit Babesia).
I have Babesia Duncani. All I know is that Malarone flattened me! I was bedridden for days. I'm acclimating slowly and ramping up dosage slowly, but wow, if I'm this bad on Malarone, I can't even imagine Mepron.
Have you treated Babesia prior to this?

No, I haven't. I tried malaron last year, but it made me so depressed. This June I tried it and did okay, but I relapse with Bb.
I suspect I have microti. I live in Illinois.
