This is a huge question in my mind, any personal experience would be greatly appreciated!!

How many of you have treated your children, with no obvious symptoms?

How long did you treat?

And what's happened after treatment?

Lastly, did you test first?

Hi Wisconsin Lyme,

I think your questions are way too general for anyone to be of real help to you. Here's a couple of things you need to consider or do before anything else.

1 - If you haven't already done so, please print out Dr. B.'s Guidelines on this site. Read all the info carefully. (It's long and takes awhile.)

2 - Go to the "Seeking A Doctor" forum on this site and post your location and the fact that you want an LLMD for your children. Call and make an appt now, as it will likely take a few months to get a first appt.

3 - Get everyone in question tested before you do anything. Make sure that if your kids have had any antibiotic tx previous to testing that the doctor doing the testing knows about it, as it will likely detract from the results.

I'm sure that other people will be along shortly with advice, but you really should get everyone to a bonafide Lyme-literate doctor ASAP.

Best to you and your family.

Unfortunately I've been struggling with my own neuro lyme for 3 years. I've been reading guidelines and pretty much everything on here for the last 3 years.

We have a LL doc, I'm just looking for some anecdotes.

To be more specific, I'm looking for anyone's experience w/ treating asymptomatic young children.

Hi Wisconsin,

I've been having my llmd treat my congenital lymies over the last few months. They do not have symptoms, but tested positive for lyme...one tested positive for erlichiosis and babesia too.

My llmd is planning on treating the one with lyme for 6 months and the one with co-infections for a few months longer (6 months of mepron and zith, then 3 months of doxy.)

I would love to hear about other parents' experiences too...I don't personally know any other symptomless kids being treated.

Both of my children have congenital Lyme.

However, my LLMD would not treat my children if asymptomatic.

I did my homework prior to the visit.

I already knew both had Lyme specific bands via Igenex.

Both my children took zith for over a year.

One developed a sensitivity and a rash and went to amoxi.

My youngest is in remission.

My oldest had about 6 months symptom free, but is starting

To complain of nausea every night, shakiness, and is sleeping a lot.

Back to the LLMD we go.

I did an extensive post on symptoms of congenital Lyme

In infants, toddlers and small children.

I posted it here a while ago.

You'd be suprised how many subjective symptoms there are.

Hope this helps.

Hugs,

Geneal
