Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has had a bone scan?

Did they see anything?

Were there any "hot spots"

Would lyme disease show on a bone scan?

Thanks,
Wildthing

Hi

I've had a bone scan for my shin pain. Nothing showed up at all.

What part of your body is being scanned?

I can't remember how it works exactly, so I can't be of much help.

Things like stress fractures and shin splints can show up.

But I'm guessing also tumors? or infections? Maybe?

The effects of Lyme could show up (if it's given you problems with your spine/neck), but it wouldn't look any different than if something other than Lyme had given it to you.

P.S. I love your signature!

nicole, i love her signature too; just read it for 1st time.

i've had 2 done. 1st was worst experience in my life where they were going to STRAP ME DOWN TO TABLE for the machine to go over me!

i said no way! table was pure hell ... it was vibrating like a machine that grades "rocks" .. same sound! purely awful.

2nd one was better; newer equipment. i don't believe either showed anything, and i've had chronic lyme 40 yrs. this dec! so HAD LYME during both of these xrays being done.

I had one about four years ago when bone pain "exploded" throughout my body; truly thought I had bone cancer.

Some areas of arthritis showed in spine, but that's about it.

Thanks for the replies!

I will get my results some time next week.

I had a whole body scan and a 3 phase scan of my arm. a sclerotic lesion showed previously on on a 2 separate sets of x-rays (on my arm).

I did see on the computer when I got up, that there was "hot spots" on my arm, both shoulders, other arm and spine.

I don't know what it is yet, because my dr. doesn't have the results yet, but I was wondering if it had to do with lyme.
