If you are someone who works outside, like a farmer, how do you protect yourself from the ticks?

Thank you. I will look into it. He is outside all of the time and comes in with deer ticks much of the time.

And yet he is not sick?

This intrigues me the most. I live in a tick endemic area. I enjoy an outdoor sport of riding and camping with horses. None of my buddies are sick even though we have had multiple tickbites.

I feel there is another component at work in those of us who are sick.

I know from the DetoxiGenome test that genetically I am very disfunctional in my ability to detox and according to my doctor, I was born with this disfunction.

I know that research has shown that elderly people who are healthy all have high levels of glutathione (our natural detoxifier) while chonically ill people of any age have low levels.

I do believe this is my main problem and would explain why every year of my youth I had strep throat, tonsilitis, bronchitis, sinunitis. If antibiotics could save the day, I would never have gotten lyme disease.

I have been on a major detox regimen since 4/06 and have been very functional the majority of the time as a result.

I test positive for babesia ducani, mycoplasma p and CPN. The babesia is my doctor's main concern and killing it seems to be mission impossible.

But by detoxing on a regular basis (constant) I stay virtually painfree.

I bet your farmer has high levels of glutathione and the bugs just can't take hold of him.

There was a recent thread about protection with several ideas....

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/83205?

Also, in that thread I posted about a line of products called CEDARCIDE. These products were recommended to me by someone in Hew Hampshire. It KILLS all kinds of bugs, ticks included. It's made from cedar oil, and there are products to treat people and pets, horses, barns, yards, agricultural areas..... I plan to get a basic `kit' when I get a few more $$ together.

Oh, I am so sorry. Yes, luvs2ride, he is sick with lyme disease. I failed to mention this.
I still think you need to keep them off of you even if you are already sick.
I guess I was also looking towards the future when maybe he wasn't sick.

Finette has posted about Herbal Armor. It's made of 4 essential oils i think.

Her story is that her daughter was doing research in the upper stories of rainforest in costa rica.

Finette sent her some Herbal Armor. Two weeks later she asked her mother to send her a whole case!

Selma posts about her little daughter taking some kind of homeopathic prevention that keeps the ticks off. She's posting now as Brussels.

A woman in New Hampshire adds a few drops of GSE (Grapefruit Seed Extract) to a gallon of water and sprays it on her clothes, pets, herself, and lawn, and i think inside her house, but i'm not sure.
