I started 2 grams IV Rocephin about 32 days ago and Azith every other day.

I have felt pretty good up until the past few days. I was seeing some improvements. Joint pain was gone and that was my biggest complaint.

Now, the joint pain is back and worse than ever. My legs feel like rubber bands. I have tingling and weakness in my arms, legs, hands and feet. Tingling in my face. Twitching all over that is WAY worse than before. And I am exhausted.

I have read that the 4th week of treatment can be the worst...is this all a big herx?

Dr. was talking about removing my PICC line after 30 more days. I wonder if the way I am feeling now will change his mind?

Any thoughts?

This could very well be a herx. There is no one rule for herxes that applies to everyone- some people herx right away, some not for months.

It this is a herx, that is good news. Whether or not your doctor removes your PIC line probably depends on how long this herx lasts, and how you are feeling in a month.

But congratulations on having improvements- and remember- those improvements will be back as soon as the herx is over!
