Hi I haven't posted in a while but I have been on Doxi for 4 weeks. I have not felt much better during course of treatment.
I started feeling really bad so took one day off thought it was turning into a Herx. Felt good day off but today I feel so bad, extreme anxiety and that interior body shaking that doesn't appear visible but I feel it.
I started Doxi again today but with lower dose 100mg 2X day was on 200mg 2X day.
I have been on Xanax for the shaking very low dose 3 times daily but I can feel it wearing off. I feel like I'm seriously going bonkers. This is my main symptom right now.
I have seen LLD (Got name off this site) and have a whole list of antibiotics to go through. May switch to Ceftin next week to see if it helps.
I can't get anyone from the office of Dr. in Springfield to return my calls, I left 2 messages. I know this Dr charges for nurse or Dr. follow up calls and I don't know the protocal but I'm scared and I hope they call me Monday...
What helps with anxiety and body tremors if anyone can share their similar symptoms and what helped them? I am on multivitamins and also take B12 shots once a week.
I have positive EIA and WB IGG- NEG/WB IGM- POS
I have had so many of the other symptoms of Lyme I feel like it has to be Lyme and Dr is treating me for it but I can't help in the back of my head thinking "could this be some other Mysterious Disease?" Have all the Drs I've seen just missed what is really wrong with me? My blood work is all mostly normal.
Oh yes I did have 2 ticks on me that day in Aug 2008 and didn't get the head out of one on my stomach, it developed a small circle but didn't spread.
I have only been sick since January slowing going downhill.
Now I have a positive Eppstein Barr virus test, (mono) which could explain my extreme weakness. Maybe even why I haven't felt better with DOXI.
Any sharing, advice, help would be so appreciated. Now Drs are closed until Monday

Cindy, I do know the feeling you describe, but I don't know the answer to your question. I hope you get some insight soon.

Cindy you may want to bump up the abx. That's not much Doxy to speak of....
Many lymies have EBV...not necessarily your problem but you should try to find a doc willing to address all your issues. Did your docs check for co-infections?
Some docs will run antivirals alongside lyme treatment.

HEllo,
Thank you for all responses, I really feel like I'm losing it sometimes. My symptoms change by the hour at times.
THe multivitamin I take has 800 mg magnesium so I don't know if I should add more?
Does anyone every find out it isn't lyme but some other rare disease? I'm so new to this and scared for my life at times.
I haven't worked since May and we own the company which has put more stress on my husband.
I keep reading information from the Doctor and other information I find online and I fit most of the suspect Lyme so much so that I think this has to be Lyme.
But its scarey to think that most Doctors don't know how to treat this.
I will try again to reach my Doctor. I have only seen him once and am in the beginning of all this. Nice to know there is help here.
Thank you, Cindy S
I told my husband and family do not let me end up in mental insitution because I was not like this before. I tell them to fight for me if I become "crazy". I have never had panic or anxiety before, ever...

I would try klonopin first. I take .5 just in the morning and it helps a little. Better than Xanax.
I was on Lexapro and it made me want to jump out a window.

My illness started with anxiety out of nowhere too. I was not like this before and it scared me horribly. It was like my body went haywire.
I had other symptoms like muscle tightness, extreme fatigue, shaking chills, bone pain, air hunger and more. The anxiety component destroyed me. it's tough to get rid of. I kind of suspect an adreanal issue as Keebler stated happens often.
Doxy is one drug I can't handle. I had your issues on it coupled with severe head pressure. I took it 12-15 days. It created symptoms with no benefit so I stopped. I'm not sure if I would've ever gotten over the hump and saw improvement.
I couldn't live like that every day so I moved to another Abx.
I too have positive EBV, but my LLMD has no concerns and does not treat viruses. Believes all viral issues will disappear if Bb is taken down. I hope it's right, but I am not a true believer yet when I read Timaca's postings.
Any chance Zithromax is next on your Abx list? lol. My doc has someone else's drug treatment regime on my instruction sheet (no patient name of course). lol. It confused the #### out of me at first. It's straightened out now.
Good luck. I wish you the best and hope treatment soon helps. Biaxin has been the only drug I feel helps at all to this point.
I have never taken Klonopin, but I feel at some point I may need a benzo to be able to function in public better. Any life is better than being couped in a house, not able to drive much, etc. You do what you have to do because no LLMD can assure anyone their problems are all Bb-related. I have asked many times, but I can't get a doc to look me in eye and say yes with certainty.

Cindy, you should consider taking anxiety meds temporarily to deal with the anxiety that lyme and its coinfections can cause.
Life is not worth living with high anxiety.
There are many to choose from. Each person reacts differently to each one. I tried Lexapro, Cymbalta, and many more before I found one that did not give me bad side effects.
I ended up needing a very very low dose of zoloft.
It is a trial and error thing.
So, begin trying various meds at various doses. These meds are mostly classified as antidepressants. But, they deal with anxiety also.
You will not need to be on them for long. Maybe for up to 9 months, I would imagine. (I was told that 85% of all patients can get off them in 9 months.) You can slowly taper off whatever you are taking, and if you see the anxiety coming back, you stay on the med. If it doesn't come back, you know you don't need it anymore. You can do this after 3 months, 6 months, etc.
Quick acting anti-anxiety medication is Xanax. However, some people get addicted to it. I used Xanax for a good while, as needed, and did not get addicted to it. But, there is that concern. Some people have a terrible time getting off it. That will not happen with antidepressants.
The fear of never getting better is common with lyme disease.
I want you to know that I had undiagnosed lyme disease for 10 years. Turns out I also had babesiosis and bartonella.
I got rid of all of my diseases by getting to a good lyme doctor.
It is 4 years now since I completed my lyme treatement. I am still symtom-free, enjoying my life. AND, it is the same life I had before lyme disease.
I just wanted to let you know that.
I and my friends and acquaintances have gotten rid of lyme disease and have our normal lives back. We got our lives back by going to doctors who follow the Burrascano protocol. So, based on all that I have seen, I believe in this protocol.
There are so many people who have had lyme and gotten rid of it, but they don't post here. So, I just wanted to tell you that I know a number of them personally.

Hello,
Yes I am going to contact my primary she has tried to get me to take lexapro or cymbalta but I was putting off because I didn't want it to mask my symptoms.
But I really feel like I need something more than xanax at this time. Glad to hear you have good experience with that treatment. I hear the brain part is the last to improve?
The nurse from Dr. C called and told me to definitaly switch to the Ceftin. SO I started that this morning. I believe Zithromax is next in line after 4 weeks of Ceftin, unless the Ceftin is helping I am supposed to stay on until no more benefit from it...
I hope he is a good LLMD I did get his name from this site and he seems good I have a lot of paper information, it seems like it is in line with the Burrascano protocol I have printed from this site.
It is encouraging to hear that many have had the disease alot longer than I have and are recovering some completely. That gives me hope, and I'm happy for them.
THank you so much I do feel better after reading your kind posts...
I have a low aldosterone level and they want to treat me for that too. So I guess this would be a type of co-infection that needs to be addressed.
