I have had chronic ear fullness/pressure since becoming ill with lyme. I was wondering if anyone had this and had any answers?

I saw a ENT not too long ago and he saw no fluid in my ears and my tests were all normal that he ran.

It feels like my ears or full of water or just like an ear infection. They also click when I swallow or drink. Also when I hear louder noises it kinda makes an echo in my ear as well. Sometimes, if I am in a room the is completely quiet, it sounds kinda like holding a sea shell up to your ear.

Anyone have what I am describing? Any advice or anything that works for you?

I have this same symptom- it is the only symptom that has not left me since getting lyme.

My left ear feels clogged, very sensitive to noise and I hear that echo you are talking about- also have pulsatile tinnitus (hear my heartbeat in my ear).

I started having the pressure/fullness and pain when I was on zithromax, I stopped it and it got a bit better but not completely. Two ENTs could find no specific reason, hearing was tested to be ok.

I think it is inflamation caused for me because when my overall body inflamation is worse so are my ears. I also get some relief from just laying down somehow the pressure goes down, as well as by just pulling on an earlobe, very little pressure is felt until I let go and it goes back to normal.

My outside ears also get very red and hot sometimes -- probably from the swelling too.

Do you think it could be muscular pain?
