We went out for supper last night, and I ended up finishing off my son's garlic toast--not super garlicky, but had a good bit.

Within an hour, I felt dizzy and sort of carsick, and even got a bit unsteady for a few minutes in a store.

Had a hard time sleeping last night (storms, power outages, lots of other stuff going on overnight).

This morning I got up and felt horrible--jooint pain, back pain, overall fatigued (although not sleeping had something to do with that, I know), felt mentally slow.

I felt like when I started abx and had a herx, but I haven't had anything like that for a few months.

Could garlic really do that, or was it just a flare?

Impossible to say for sure but if you ate a lot of garlic it could have but I also think that the

weather you described could have played a major role in how you felt.

Many of us feel just as you described during storms and changing weather fronts.

star,

maybe it was the bread and not the garlic?

or the total carb intake for the day?

yeast can also cause an aurora of symptoms similar to lyme such as brain fog, anxiety, fatigue, etc.

If you felt dizzy within an hour after ingesting the garlic it definitely could cause you to herx.

The symptoms came before the storm, so it's just a matter of common sense deduction. The storm could have added to it,

I ate about a whole head of roasted garlic and herxed from it. If it was a small amount, I'd say no, but a large amount, sure.

I wouldn't think there'd be enough garlic on the toast to do anything to you. But the bread is another issue.

You could have eaten enough to stir up yeast... or maybe you're gluten intolerant and didnt' know it until you ingested more than usual.

......or maybe it was just a coincidence .. it was your time to herx from Lyme meds??

I really didn't eat any differently than usual, except for the garlic loast.

As for herxing, I haven't herxed since first starting months ago, so I dunno.

I thought about the weather, but it's been kind of rainy off and on for a week, and this was the first I had any type of symptoms like that.

Weird.

I did just realize that I missed both my after supper Doxy and my nightly Rifampin yesterday. Although I wouldn't think missing one dose of the meds would have made a difference.

Oh what a lovely disease....

Yes, I believe garlic could have contributed (plus the weather)

I am "allergic" rather, have a garlic intolerance and always pay in one way or another whenever I eat garlic,

Even as much as I want to be able to eat it due to its antibacterial properties.

one garlic pill plus a massage recently gave me horrible lymp pain-and i think some kind of blockage...it felt like a baseball under my arm.

it lasted 48 hrs until i took a bunch of antihistimines in order to get some sleep...that made it better in 20 minutes! wierd.

Garlic infused oil can really make you sick.
I have seen this sitting out in restaurants when it is supposed to be refrigerated. Maybe this is what was slathered on the toast or bread.
