Hey,

Just curious if anyone gets this... It is on my left side by my ribs.

I have had stomach pains like this before, but was wondering if it may be the ABX or just part of a herx?

It's not a constant pain, just every now and then, but it is enough to stop me dead in my tracks....

Also I have noticed my stomach is growling like crazy. I know this can be associated with Colitis.

Anyone???

I get those around the top of my left rib cage. It feels like bruised ribs or something, and flares up every now and then. That was actually my first symptom that I ever noticed (I didn't suspect Lyme at the time of course).

I think it's normal. I certainly had those pains going on before I was ever on antibiotics.

Wish I could be of more help..

Yup .Not often -seems when my other symptoms are its worst as well. My "normal" ones are planar fascitis like feet pain and cramps, collarbone pain , knees pain. When it flares up it all of the above + rib+wrist pain, + severe neuro (numbness /tingling)

Around the area you describe is your spleen.

Might check with doc to see if it is swollen?

I also get horrific pain in the rib cage and stomach and the whole sha-bang when I herx.

Naaaaaaaaaaa... sssssssssssttttttyyyyy!!!

Sorry this is bothering you K.

I agree with TC. Just to be on the safe side...

Babesia can be harsh on the spleen b/c it filters out all of those wacky RBC's that babs locks on/in to.

Your doc can feel to see if it's swollen or not.

Yea,

That's what I am concerned about.... I also get the same sharp pains in the colon! [bonk]

I have been on high doses of Mino for about 2 months now along with Zithro,Bactrim,Malarone and Artemesia....

All the cannons are blasting off!!!

It's nice taking a break from the IV's though!

Seems to be penetrating better than the IV....

The Mino is the toughest ABX I have been on to date.

That's pretty bad when I have been on about 7 IV trials...

I feel sick more, could be a good thing. I have more symptoms popping up then before.

So, I think right now, the orals are doing the job although it may not feel like it.

The doc is even considering sending me for Photopheresis treatment in the fall.

WHAT FUN!!!

Thanks for asking!

Could be stomach spasms. I had an endoscopy and my GI said my stomach was in spasm which was explaining why I was having nausea, stomach pain, gas, and slow bowels... Later it was found I have gastroparesis

I remember having pains like that too. I think it's just part of the illness. It would just come out of the blue and I never knew when to expect it.
Often I thought they were spasms and involved the nerve endings.

If your stomach is growling check your diet to see if you have been good about following a no yeast diet, keeping off the sugars and carbs. You can have some candida issues brewing. Are you on diflucan. If not pick up some Candex or a similar product and up your probiotics.

Mino can bring on migraines. It really gets up into the brain. The migraines are actually a good sign. Up your dose of vitamin C to at least 3,000mgs a day.

Also supplements and herbs that help with circulation will help with the migraines. Ginkgo is helpful. Get the blood circulating in the brain.

Thanks for the replies!

Abxnomore,

I was on Diflucan for a while there, but the doctor took me off.

I beleive that I do have Candida and will get tested soon.

I am just concerned about the pains... I was in the hospital for most of April for chest pains etc...

I am just hoping that the ABX are not causing the problem.

I figured that the Migraines were a good thing. I am taking 400mg Mino/day. It is really killing my gut.

Thanks for the help!
