Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has a symptom list in kids born with Lyme? My brother was recently diagnosed with Lyme, sick since Nov 2008. His wife had their first child in June.
She's a sweet little girl, but some things are making me wonder.
She's very very lax. Has never pulled in her legs and arms like a typical newborn. Rarely cries. On 6 hour car trip, they had to wake her up to feed her. My mom has spent more time with her as she lives in the same area and said that if she'd been born to parents who didn't take good care of her, she would be failure to thrive as she wouldn't cry and demand food/attention.
Ugh...I'd rather have a symptom list before saying anything to them though...The lack of crying doesn't bother me as much as the muscle tone issue.
look at top of medical LYME SYMPTOMS; read down thru for GENEAL'S compiled signs for kids/toddlers, etc.

He had his first set of ear tubes at nine months and continued to have several sets up until he was maybe 8 or so.

Thanks Betty and Tracy!
Wow Tracy, those symptoms sound like my other new niece! Our middle chid was much more like that as an infant, hubby was ready to get the big V because I told him I couldn't handle having another baby like that! She refused to nurse at just months old unless I stood up, walked her AND jiggled her! My mom told me to just not do it. I tried different times and she just screamed and wouldn't nurse.
We haven't had her tested through Igenex yet.
I just worry about the poor muscle tone with their baby...if not Lyme then maybe something else, even in the NICU I saw babies with better muscle tone than her.
