Hi, kind folks at the General Support forum suggested I posted my questions here. Newly diagnosed a week ago, I've been confirmed via Western blot. Trying to learn quickly.

I've had recurrent UTI's for 2 years, and have often been on Cipro. Shortly before my dx, I went to the ER with skin flushing (Bright red) and very rapid heart beat. The ER dr. said it was anxiety, my PCP said it was the Cipro but THEN when he got a positive for Lyme, attributed the symptoms to Lyme and put me on Doxy and Cipro. I've been on Doxy for 1 week, no problems, but when the Cipro was added I took a single pill and am flushing red and have itchy hive-like patches.

So, am confused. I have stopped the Cipro and will call my dr, but, do Lyme rashes come and go, flare up and then become quiescent, on their own? Is 3 weeks of Doxy enough when this is happening? And I'm wondering too if earlier UTI's could be related, though apparently the Lyme is "new" according to my doctor...

Any thoughts welcome. BJ (female, 53)
