I've been on low dose mepron for 11 days and have started feeling really itchy. My skin also feels like it is burning.

LLMD doesn't know why. No real rashes or anything.

Told me to stop it for a few days and see if it goes away.

Then restart and see what happens.

Did this happen to anyone?

Hi opus2828. I have Babesiosis and have experienced this recently also. I have been on Mepron for a long time, so in my case I don't think the itching and burning are from it.

The only thing different I have done recently was a Glutathione push, but I experienced these symptoms a few days after getting it when it was likely out of my system.

I am wondering if these symptoms could be from die-off.

I've never been on Mepron but felt this way on doxy. In fact I had tiny bumps on my face - freaked me out but my doctor wasn't concerned.

In fact during the time I was on doxy I changed my shampoo and poof! the spots on my face went away. I think all these meds change the way our immune system so much we end up with "weird" sx.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, just thought you might find the above interesting.

opus2828, I think it may be a herx although I have never had the burning skin symptom before. I had the itchiness a long time ago when I was on different meds.

Since these symptoms started a few days after I got a Glutahione push (which is a detoxer) I think it could be from die-off. My doctor does not know either.

When you restart the Mepron, please post if it happens again.

Sammi - are you by chance allergic/sensitive to sulfa drugs?

My LLMD told me I couldn't get IV Glut due to a sulfa drug allergy (I believe IV Glut may contain a trace amt of sulfa?).

opus - forgot to menion that I also changed my face cream and the burning little bumps disappeared. I do believe we can develop new allergies/sensitivities to products (even natural ones) we didn't have in the past.

btmb03, thanks for your reply.

Yes I am allergic to sulfa. My doctor knows this and I was given a strong antihistamine before the push. I stayed in the office for thirty minutes, and I did not have a reaction.

I was fine for two and a half days afterward. My doctor said Glutathione is typically absorbed pretty quickly, so he did not think it was related.

I wish I could know for sure though.

Sammi - if it's helping you it might be worth it esp since you're vigilant about it. My doc says it helps people tremendously, wish I could do it.

Sorry for hijacking this thread!

btmb03, if I can find the funds for the Glutathione, I think I will try more. Then I will know.

If you are interested in the Glutathione, you may want to ask your doctor about taking an antihistamine beforehand.

I am very allergic to sulfa, but I did not have the serious reaction I would have had to sulfa by itself.

opus2828, let's keep each other posted.

Hopefully these symptoms will go away soon for both of us!
