I was prescribed Diflucan for an overgrowth of yeast. I am to take it for one week. I am on day four and my whole body hurts. It almost feels like a herx from antibiotics. Has anyone else experienced this?

I did not get the pain you speak of but did get super foggy head and felt like I could not think. I only took 200mg once a week as I was on other meds that can affect the liver at the time.
The first week was the worst and that is how I knew I had high yeast. Then each week got better. I took Diflucan for 1 month.
Some will say that Diflucan can hit the Lyme too.

Thanks for responding. Yes, my doctor said that they used to give Diflucan to patients to see if they herxed. I've never heard of that but maybe that's what's going on. I have the foggy thinking too.

Yep. You're herxing on it. Means you did indeed have an overload of yeast. Best to get on the no sugar low carb diet ASAP! It will also help to lessen your herxing.

I also had a Herx-like reaction to diflucan. By the end of one week, the reactions subsided.
I know take nystatin twice a day.
I do not adhere to a no sugar diet. I make efforts to limit white carbs and eat sensibly. When I tried a no-sugar diet it made me weak and tired.
I go back on it from time to time for short periods when I feel yeast-y.

I am not eating any sugars at all. I figured that if I have an overload of yeast, I'd better not feed it. I actually feel a little better since I've started eating right.
Thanks for responding everyone.

When I was on Diflucan I herxed horribly. I have been on it several times and each time, I felt like I had the flu.

YES! The very first day of Diflucan causes me to herx. Joint and muscle pain, fatigue.
I'm on Nystatin now, but the other day took one of my daughter's Diflucan because I felt yeast-y and by that evening I was herxing.
I prefer the Diflucan.
