My teenager recently complained to me that she isn't digesting everything. I didn't ask specifics..but is this common in abx treatment? Is there anything she can take to help this??

Good digestive enzymes.
May not have enough acid in stomach. Common belief is too much but many people have too little.
Have a natural health pro evaluate her.

there is a product called Digest Gold by Enzymedica which are really good digestive enzymes,
but i would definitely consult with your LLMD. perhaps he would recommend a specific professional digestive product.
good luck.

Oh yeah, I get this .... I've had it for years. I have found that fermenting foods has helped because there are natural bacteria and enzymes. I've been making sauerkraut, kefir, and drinking kombucha. For the first time in years, I'm digesting again.

Another simple thing to try, in addition to above suggestions, is to chew more thoroughly, if she is not already. Digestion begins in the mouth, because saliva is full of digestive enzymes, and thoroughly mixing food with saliva begins the process.
I've read that it's best to chew every mouthful 30 to even 45 times, depending on the food, texture, size of bite, etc.
Even soft, smooth stuff like applesauce, yogurt, and such should be *chewed* a few times to stimulate saliva release and to mix the food with it.
Sometimes our hurried lifestyles result in us taking larger bites than are healthy for us and eating quickly/bolting our food/washing mouthfuls down with a beverage.
