Hi,
My LLMD mentioned today that the patent for Mepron expires in 2009.
I looked online and it appears that it expired in April 2009.
Anyone know if any other drug companies have produced atovaquone?
I am hoping we can soon buy it for less than Mepron, and that the quality is not compromised in the generic form.

Fantastic news! Thanks for letting us know. Eventually someone has got to come up with something cheaper.

I'm sure the market for this drug is virtually non-existent. Generic manufacturers won't make any money so they could care less. Babesia/Malaria doesn't exist here. Maybe they could color it bright blue and have it taste like bubble gum!!!
