I'm really torn about this.... He has received the flu shot in the past, but thinking back, I'm wondering if he's had an increase in his neuro lyme symptoms after the vaccination? I think he has....

What are you parents doing? Are your lyme children getting the flu shot or not?

I'm not a parent, but I've been watching the issue. I don't think it's a good idea.

I posted recently in Activism with the heading Vaccine Fight Ramping Up. If you look there, 22dreams posted the url to an English newspaper warning about Guillain Barre, a nerve paralysis, developing in some from the flu shot.

You can also read at www.HealthFreedomUSA.org

I think it's best to work on boosting the immune system naturally.

My LLMD said no flu shot for me or my 2 1/2 year old. We're both almost well from lyme and still he doesn't want us to get the shot.

NO!

Check out http://www.nvic.org about the toxic additives and live flu viruses in this untested vaccine.

You'd be much better off with some homeopathic or herbal remedies in case he gets it.

Best,

Reported this am on NBC news. Most of the patients that died had underlying illness. Need to know more about those illness'. I would say the best bet is isolate as they said the vaccine would not be ready till Dec. anyway.

My LLMD said the H1N1 flu vaccine is experimental and has had very little testing. She discouraged it's use. Instead, we are using immuno-supportive and vitamin supplements, sleep, fresh air and good food.

Mecola's newletter had an article just recently...check out mercola.com

Our llmd. told us neither he or his family would be getting the swine flu vaccine.

He said they are putting in an additve, I can't remember what it's called, to stretch the supply out to make more vaccines. The additive, according to him, is not safe.

Also, there are other additives in these shots, thimerisol which is 49% mercury that can be detrimental.

I have felt worse after last year's flu shot, so we won't be taking it.

Obama says VOLUNTARY

Obama says Americans should get swine flu vaccine
9/1/2009, 2:17 p.m. CDT
JULIE PACE
The Associated Press

(AP) -- WASHINGTON - With a potentially deadly swine flu outbreak looming, President Barack

Obama is urging Americans to take steps to prevent infection.

Obama was briefed Tuesday on the nation's preparedness for swine flu by senior officials,

including Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Homeland Security Janet

Napolitano. Following the meeting, Obama said the government is preparing across all levels, but

all Americans have a role to play in the response.

"I don't want anybody to be alarmed, but I do want everyone to be prepared," he said.

The global swine flu epidemic first emerged in April, sickening more than 1 million Americans

and killing about 500. More than 2,000 people have died worldwide. Health officials are

preparing for a surge in cases this fall, and one White House report from a panel of experts

suggests up to half the U.S. population could catch swine flu during a pandemic

Vaccine development is ongoing and is likely to be available by October. The president said the

vaccine for swine flu-known as the H1N1 virus-would be voluntary, but "strongly

recommended."

Certain groups are more vulnerable to swine flu, including children under 2, pregnant women and

people with health problems like asthma, diabetes and heart disease.

Like the seasonal flu, swine flu spreads through coughs and sneezes of people who are sick. Obama

said there are common sense precautions people can take to lower their risk of infection, like

washing their hands frequently and staying home if they feel sick.

"I know it sounds simple, but it's important and it works," Obama said.

My daughter had a tetanus/pertussis booster on Tuesday by Wednesday afternoon she was very very ill. I will never ever ever have her get a flu shot or a vaccine of any kind.

I wish I knew this before but I had no idea.

She has pretty much bounced back now but it was very scary.

Good luck,
Deb G

The only flu shots I ever had was when I was a kid (many many many years ago!) and I think I only had two of them because after the second one my brother became pretty ill.

Now that I have kids of my own...its a real tough call. My son has asthma, but it is only viral-induced. I have gotten the "mainstream" flushot as well as my daughter, but am now second guessing it.

My husband and I both work in schools, both kids in school so we are really edxposed to EVERYTHING!

In my preschool the flu shot has been made mandatory. I don't agree with that and niether do alot of the parents. They usually opt out with a religious excuse, but when the state sees that they have had other vaccines, they may no longer accept that excuse.

Bottom line after my rambling....don't know what to do.
