I had an appt. with my LLMD next week for myself and my children.

This appt. was made in late July after I called the LLMD's office to confirm my Aug. 10th appt. and was told nobody put it in the computer. That appt. was made in May.

So, I had to reschedule. OK, no problem, they put it in September because they made a mistake.

Today, they called and told me the doc is going away next week and they are now scheduling......in December.

Wait a minute...I didn't cancel this appt. Why should I have to wait until December?

Maybe it's just me (or the Mepron/Zith) [Smile] but I think that is not right.

October, I could understand.

This LLMD is a top doc and a lot of people have had good experiences.

I know for new patients you have to wait a few months to get in. But for established patients?

Is this what your LLMD does?

If not and you see an LLMD in the NY/CT area, please PM me as I would be interested to know who you are seeing.

Thanks for reading and letting me vent!

That doesn't seem right. I haven't had issues with my LLMD (yet), but that would really irk me!

Yes, my LLMD does this sometimes to. He suddenly gets called away for something or other. But he is a movie star after all!

Oh wait, we have the same one! [Wink]

If you read my last pm to you, I'll give you advice. [Razz]

So when was your last follow-up? July? I do not think that it is acceptable to have to wait until Dec. My doctor requires a follow-up every month.

Does your doctor have a PA or NP that you could see sooner?

I spoke to the PA in a phone consult over the summer when they screwed up my August appointment so now it is time to see the doc.

I saw my lyme doc monthly until I was down to treating my last disease. Then, it was once every 2 months and finally once every 3 months in the end.

I'm a believer in monthly visits until the disease is well under control. The important part of the visit is the patient reporting everything that has gone on symptom-wise, as this is the only way the doc has any idea if his treatment is working.

My doc only takes as many patients as he can handle, so this kind of thing does not happen.

Unfortunately, my doc is in Maryland. And, he doesn't treat children.
