During the 4 years I was on antibiotics I gained 40 lbs. I was on a strict anti yeast diet the whole time. I needed to eat many small meals each day since whenever I got hungry my symptoms would get out of control. I also needed to eat extra fat (nuts) to control herxing.
The 1st year I had no energy and could barely walk around. The next year I started walking more. Eventually I tried harder exercise. It would usually wipe me out and sometimes it would take several days to be functional again. I limited exercise so I would have enough energy to be able to work.
Finally after 4 years I was able to go off antibiotics. I have been off them for 1 1/2 years although I did have to take them for a few weeks when brain fog returned. (Total use approx 6 weeks over the last 18 months).
I thought I would lose weight when I went off the abx and started getting more active. I go for long walks at least 3x week and am generally active.
I didn;t loose any weight and this summer I gained a few more pounds and now I have decided to get really serious about losing weight. Sisnce I have been relatively symptom free I thought my body could handle dieting and increased exercise. Now I'm not sure.
I started one week ago. I'm eating only super healthy foods (There was very little junk to cut out of my former diet). Low yeast, smaller portions. My appetite has decreased. When I get hungry bad things start to happen. My eyelid went numb, my face has start twitching and I felt like Bell's Palsy was going to come back. I'm getting tingling and bug crawling sensations that I haven't had for a while.
Last night I was really scared I would wake up with a paralyzed face. When I woke up this morning my face felt much better. Then I rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes. At the 15 minute mark I felt great. Around 20 minutes by eyelid went numb and the twitching returned. Later in the afternoon I went for a 30 minute walk. Now the twitching is bad.
What is happening? Why do my symptoms get bad when I'm hungry? Is exercise bringing the Lyme out of hiding? Is it killing Lyme and the numbness is a herx symptom? Should I forge ahead and see what happens? What were your experiences when you increased exercise or tried to diet.

First, what does your diet look like, exactly ? Do you have a link about your anti-yeast diet ?
I have the same issue with fatigue after long exercise. In fact, I get lots of fatigue and a massive headache if I work out for more than 45 min or so.

It also could be that your intrinsic factor stopped working call llmd and have him/her give you B12 shots first one in the but second and the following under the skin and above the fat layer in your belly or where ever theres a layer of fat when given between fat and skin it takes longer to absorb trickling into your blood instead of a rush when gived into your butt muscle.
You have pretty much the same symptoms i have had and my intrinsic factor is shot, so now i give myself a b12 shot once a week to every 2 weeks sometimes 3 weeks now.
Dont underestimate the b12 conection we are born with what we need in our livers and because of extended abx's we use the liver stores up and the abxs destroy the bodies intrinsic factor or make it non existent after a while it may return gived enough time but you must rebuild the stores in liver.
Also it may be that lyme has come back it could be that when the dieting started because of the loss of fat in cells the little cysts may have returned to spirochete form? But I would also bet on the B12 problem.
Hows your eyesite? and teeth any broken yet? Thats what hppened to me i broke a molar and eyes got floater in it now i have a little black dot in my left eye when looking through it.

Thanks for the replies. All blood tests are normal. I was almost symptom free and had high energy until I started dieting.
Today the twitching is gone. I read the Burrascano guidelines which say to always have a day of rest after exercise so no heavy exercise today. I'll walk for an hour tonight. Tomorrow I'll do the exercise bike or elliptical and I'll see how it goes.
Thanks for the Tabata article. I'll give it a try.
No teeth or eye problems. Despite the severe Lyme symptoms I had I am nearly back to normal. Actually I'm better than before since my joint pains, muscle pains, headaches and allergies are gone. Now I have some foot and ankle pain, occasional tingling or numbness here and there.

Twitching and paresthesias (odd skin sensations) are symptoms of low magnesium.
This happens to people with Lyme, because the Lyme bacteria use up the magnesium in our muscle and nerve cells.
