I see some anecdotal suggestions here and there ( M-F, 2 weeks on, one off ,etc) . Is there a system to build a regimen or maybe me some information about pulsing for common lyme drugs?

Many posts indeed - not much substance though (or details)

I saw one of your posts :

3 days biaxin, 2 days off, then
3 days doxy, 2 days off, then back to biaxin

B B B off, off, D D D off, off B B B off, off, D D D off

Could you clarify does it mean you never actually had doxy+biaxin on same day? What would be the logic behind pulsing regimen when you take multiple abx each aimed at different forms?

Coltman,

I am being treated for Lyme and Bartonella, we plan to address the Babesia a little later. Here is what my LLMD has me do.

MTWHF - Minocycline with breakfast and dinner. Rifampin before bed.

SS - Minocycline with breakfast and dinner. Zithromax before breakfast.

Is this the kind of info you were looking for or something else? Hope it helps.

Aimee

Yup .great thanks!

So do I get this right - you basically stay on mino all time and vary zithro/rifampin . Also do you do any larger cycles ( like month wise - 3 month off/1 off thing) ?

Yes - I stay on Mino all week and change up the zith and rifampin. Still pretty new to this so I can't comment on long term cycles.

Wish it was the Mino I got a break from - this seems to be the one with the worst side effects for me!

My LLMD said once I felt good for a while we would do some other combo - guess to either make sure we have succesfully attacked Lyme and Bart or to move on to the Babs.

yes, dox/biaxin were NEVER TAKEN TOGETHER!! each had their designated days & days off.

logic ?? this beginner llmd was learning from the ADVANCED PATIENTS, and that's what they suggested since i'd had chronic lyme 35 yrs. at that time.

seek asked about it not working ....

well, i can't say it didn't!! they added the one for yeast, can't think of name but been discussed often, and had no problems with the 3 meds.

it was when he added FLAGYL i had the horrible herx right on lymenet typing. i called his office next day leaving detailed message on what herx symptoms were; NO CALL BACK.

stopped flagyl immediately per my pcp of 25 yrs. said

sent him a detailed EMAIL next day; NO EMAIL BACK. i dropped him and went out of state....she was all supplements; no abx!

so i can't say it helped, etc. HERXED ENTIRE 20 MONTHS!!
