FYI - I saw this post on another forum:
It is official! The Bryn Mawr Film Institute will be screening Under Our Skin on 9/29, at 7:30pm -- this is a big theater -- 350 seats -- we would love to fill them all!! MontCoLyme is sponsoring a Q&A with an esteemed panel immediately following the film:
a local family featured in the film
a local Lyme Literate MD, Dr.C#####, MD
a Temple University professor, Dr. Lynne Andersson, addressing the ethical issues involved
Please get the word out to anyone you know, especially medical professionals, and those affected by Lyme disease. This is an excellent opportunity for the public to learn more about the broad spectrum of views on Lyme and related Tick-Borne Infections, and the disease impact in our communities.
If anyone can help to distribute this information through schools or other organizations, please let me know- montcolyme@aol. com <mailto:montcolyme@aol. com> , and we will provide you with school-oriented flyers that can be emailed, as well as fliers for distribution or placement in newsletters.
Under Our Skin, was just awarded "Best Feature Film" at the International Health Film Festival in Kos, Greece, the home of Hippocrates, the father of medicine. The film won "for advocating at the frontier of medicine... The film provides an activist challenge to the medical profession on ethical review standards, long term treatment and the necessary attentiveness to those who suffer from Lyme disease."
And, PA's lyme cases reported to the CDC, are already up 48% over last year, topping 5,000, the most reported cases of any state this year, with a full quarter in the year to go. YIKES!!
Hope to see you there! - Julia Wagner, montcolyme@aol. com

Thanks for bumping this back to the top. One of the local papers is also looking for local stories..see below email I received earlier today from Montco lyme.
FYI -- The Philadelphia Daily News wrote a short article on the Under Our Skin screening in Bryn Mawr tomorrow night (9/29, 7:30pm), 824 W. Lancaster Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA, 19010. Dr. C was interviewed, and I've been in contact with the journalist regarding a follow-up to this story, that focuses on some of the local stories. As part of this -- please log on to this story and add a comment with your personal experience with Lyme disease -- let them know this really is a bigger story. http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/20090928__Skin__deep.html
The Main Line Times has also covered the story, primarily just as a featured film.
If you can, make it to the screening, and let others know about it. The panel discussion afterwards, in addition to Dr. C, will also feature a Temple University Professor addressing the ethical issues in the current situation with Lyme - these are not "hypothetical" but rather real and immediate concerns to many affected by Lyme disease.
