Well, today was the annnual Walk for Life for the local Pregnancy Center. I do this every year, but I had been doing only a half mile to a mile.

Today I got cocky and did the full 2 miles.

I felt great while I was walking, but since I've been home, I feel horrible.

I'm dizzy-ish, really fatigued, achy, air hunger/short of breath, and I feel like I'm vibrating.

Hoping it's just the bugs getting upset and nothing more serious (although the cardiologist said notihng is wrong except I'm out of shape).

It is absolutely amazing how good one can feel during some of these "oh, wow! look what I can do" and "I'm normal again, I could walk forever" times (until you have to turn around and walk BACK home)!

Are you taking good adrenal support? And liver support? If the liver can't work fast enough to get the toxins out, exercise can be more of a boomerang effect.

That "vibrating" is problem is adrenal (HPA axis) in emergency mode - and the nervous system firing away from overwork. I suggest increasing your magnesium to bowel tolerance as that is the first line of repair when the brain's NMDA action is too high as from overexertion and the GABA (caliming) action needs some help. Magnesium is the key.

Is that cardiologist LL ? Of course lyme patients are out of shape - because of illness and infection.

And, most cardiologists don't do all the right tests or understand the complexities of chronic stealth infections.

And what does the cardiologist know about adrenal dysfunction with lyme?

I commend you for your efforts and desire. However, be kind to your body. Right now, going from walking 1/2 mile to 2 miles can set you back months.

Take excellent care of yourself right now. That may help determine how steadily you can ease back. Remember that each time we have a bad effect from overexertion, it's not necessary the "bugs" at work.

Oh, sure, infection is connected and as in the thread below, you'll see that running or even playing racketball with a virus can be fatal due to the way the virus replicates under such condition.

However, it is also important to recognize the damage that has happened to our bodies - to nearly every system. There are measured ways to work with that, though, as in the article from this thread "When working out doesn't work out" - great explanations and advice there.

Remember to rest. The body cannot repair when struggling just to keep up. Rest is the repair mode.

===========

There is some excellent information here on how to work with your body during this time:

Yeah, and it doesn't help that my boys are both sick with whatever crap is going around, and I'm not too sure I'm not coming down with it.

I do need to increase my supplements all around today.

Starfall, don't worry, I do that too.

I like to take walks and I like to be outside but I don't know when to say when. I push myself too hard and I go to far.

I keep doing it because I enjoy it so much and I know that it's good for me mentally. Once I start walking though I don't want to stop. I feel OK so I keep going and then all of a sudden I hit a wall.

Sometimes i'm good for only 5min, sometimes a full 30min. Sometimes I walk funny, stiff legged and just off, other times my movements are fluid and I can walk quickly. It all depends on the day.

And sometimes I feel really bad fluey and achy and woosy but I just need to get out so i'll walk anyways. Those days I go real slow and only last a couple minutes.

The thing is I almost always pay for these walks that I so enjoy. As soon as I get home I crash. I've learned just to go to bed because i'll fall asleep wherever I am so I might as well be comfortable.

Starfall, at least you walked for a good cause. Take it easy for a couple days and you should be fine. Hopefully you won't pick up what your boys brought home. Unfortunately that would really knock you down for awhile.

Just think of all those babies, mamas, and families that you helped today. That's go to make you feel a little better [Smile]

Thanks for the responses. [Smile]

Unfortunately I did come down with the boys' bug, but it doesn't seem to be too bad--just a little stuffy and my throat feels crappy.

My boys are actually sicker than I am.
