I have CFIDS/fibro for over 10 years. About 3 years ago, I was IgG +for IGeneX for Lyme, but CDC -, and IgM - for both IGeneX and CDC. I was told I did not have Lyme by 3 M.D.'s
A repeat test done 3 months ago showed I am now IgM +for both IGeneX and CDC, and IgG +for IGeneX, but CDC-. Ehrlichiosis 1:80 IgG. Also I am immunosuppressed (CD57 is 30 (60 is low normal) and very inflammed (my TNF beta1 is 20,000(normal less than 3 or 4,000).
I have just seen an LLMD and have been given minocycline. I'm very hesitant to start it now because of the flu season. The LLMD said it was up to me if I wanted to wait to start antibiotics. I thought I would start antibiotics after I got the seasonal flu and H1N1 flu shots, but now after doing some reading, I'm not sure I want to get the flu shots.
I have read that antibiotics can make you more susceptible to the flu and can increase mortality due to change in stomach flora. Altho I take pre and probiotics (as well as vit D3), I don't know if that's enough.
In addition, I feel, perhaps, taking the antibiotics may have my body fighting the Lyme, etc.and not be able to respond well to the flu.
Deaths from the flu often come from cytokine storm and my TNF beta 1 is already very high(?maybe it would help fight off the flu virus, or maybe not). It may take a while for this to decrease on antibiotics.
Any input about beginning antibiotics as the the flu season starts or other ideas would be appreciated. Thanx.

Also do you know your VitD levels ( 25 AND 1.25) -you might want research those things. Especially in relevance to cytokine levels.
As about abx - I would think they would have no or positive effect ,depending if your treatment has antiviral activity or not
