I went off abx a few weeks ago to detox my body.

Just before I went off I was getting muscle pain in my left arm. It felt like a pulled muscle if I reached backwards. My LLMD seemed unconcerned.

Since then and since coming off abx I've been taking herbs. Muscle pain and joint pain have spread throughout my body now. I've lost a lot of strength too. Plus tons of joint snapping.

I had some joint pain a year before I got really sick but thought it had to do more with my lifestyle than anything else. Now some of that old pain has come back...plus more.

I'm worried I am getting worse. I could call my LLMD but I usually don't get a response right away. The response usually is to make an appointment anyways. Too broke for that right now.

Have any of you had this happen? I thought if I needed to get on abx again it would be because I felt sicker, not joint and muscle stuff.

Abx makes me so sick..not in a herx kind of way, more like a toxic way. I really want to hold off as much as possible. I was really hoping I would have good results with the herbs.

I've been on abx for 14 months..almost 7 of which were IV. I really haven't improved that much.

Thanks so much again everyone!!

Sarah,

I didn't start making any improvement until I started treating for parasites and worms which play a HUGE role in Lyme disease. Check out

www.lymephotos.com

This is EXACTLY what came pouring out of me. I used antiparasitic herbs and salt/c (sea salt) to get rid of them.

Type in parasites and Lyme into search bar here for more info. I have seen tiny parasites come out of my wrist bones. (They scab first) Don't ignore this,

Gael

I just had a relapse, after long treatment and several months of complete remission (I had been off antibiotics, due to c difficile I needed to stop them.)

The first thing it hit when returning was my tendons -- wrist, knees, etc. Next, it hit my joints -- as you said, lots of popping, and pain, and trying to slip out of joint.

Then the neuro symptoms started to flare....

I guess that is a pretty normal pattern when Lyme re-emerges.

could a herx cause these things?

maybe as I have gotten to the full dose of herbs it's causing stuff to die?

3 years without any pain and now here it is..sigh

Guess I need to call the doctor.

I went off abx and my worst symptoms returned within a week. This was after more than a year of oral abx.

I'm taking cats claw, andrographis and reservatrol (sorry, unsure of the spelling)

I guess there are two new ones on the way..don't know what they are.

Just spoke with my LLMD and he thinks I am okay and to continue...a little scary!!!

I stopped Levaquin for about a week to see if it was causing my stiffness. I still took Ceftin.

During that week, I got worse and worse. I felt worse than I ever did before I got on abx. Mostly with joint pain and achiness. At first, I thought it was a herx. Eventually, I decided that I felt even worse without the Levaquin so I went back on it. Within 2 days, I was feeling good again.

Yes, that's possible.

You can take anti inflammatories to reduce the pain and inflammation.

New Chapter Zylammend is good.

And there are others

You can take liver support to ensure that the liver is making enough glutathione to detoxify the neurotoxins left behind by the dead Lyme bacteria.

You will feel bad on the antibiotics. No two ways about it unless you take something that binds the toxins. Most LLMDs recommend treating until you are symptom free and then some.

Sucks to have to suffer through it, but most do. Herbs alone are not a cure until you have really hit Lyme and all the coinfections with antibiotics first or concurrently with herbs.
