I often wonder if human and animal researchers/doctors compare notes. For Lyme/TBI I wonder if the tests/methods are the same.
I had my horse tested last year. Neg.IFA test. I had no idea of any other tests. I surely had no idea that there were animal tests that included bands. One would think that significant bands for horses would be the same for humans ie same spirochete, right?
Also seems that owners are not given grief by their vets/etc in regards to long-term high-dose ABx's. That is my interpretation so far. Gotta wonder.

I do think their immune systems are different in
many ways but I too am curious on the treatment
given. I do know most just treat with a course of
antibiotics and consider it done. I do believe a
lot more research has gone into animal studies than
we have gotten and as far as comparisons it should be interesting. Thanks for the link.

Yes, is there any mention of treatment in horses?
I know there is an infection in horse foals- Rhodococcus equi that uses the same meds we use for Bartonella sometimes- Rifampin and Biaxin.

I'll try to find another link to post. There was a study group of ponies. Is an interesting read. Seems like tetracycline "cleared" the Bb.

Again, my curiosity about bands. Do the horse researchers study the flagella/spirochetes and come up with their own conclusions/hypothesis independent of the studies done for humans?
