I was just wondering who takes all of his required supplements?

Have you found that they help you?

Is there any negative affect to your body by taking all the required ones?

I am just asking because people always say be careful taking so many pills.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've found the negative effects by not addressing the required list. But few here can afford all of that so we go with what is most important for us - sometimes rotating. Fish oil and magnesium - and B vitamins are vital, in my case.

Most of the supplements are nutrition, food, in condensed or more absorbable form. Many lyme patients are deficient, as Dr. B. mentions in his guidelines.

To whomever is saying be careful with so many pills, assure them that your doctor is guiding you with a treatment plan that has helped many and that tick-borne infections create serious effects in the body and serious treatment is required. It's important to note that your plan has been individualized for your needs, too.

For those who are criticizing your treatment, you might have them watch "Under Our Skin" - then they will see that this requires serious attention to getting it as right as possible - and that it will take a while to see success.

I hope you will have the understanding of those around you and I hope they will educate themselves but also give you credit for your intelligence and ability to make your own decisions about treatment.

I think it is nearly impossible for you to allay their concerns yourself. And, you may never convince them. I've simply stopped even talking about supplements to my family. I'm rarely around them, though, and if I am, I "sneak" my supplements when they are not looking.

Anyone who know someone with lyme really needs to see this film. I hope your friends and family member will:

http://www.underourskin.com/store_home.html (DVD)

A new DVD can be purchased for under $40. - So well worth it.

After viewing the film, it's a good idea to go to the web site and follow the progress on some of the patients. At least one who was featured did not survive. However, some others are doing absolutely splendidly, within reason.

For reference for those who are new to this and may wonder about the list you mentioned:

This is included in Burrascano's Guidelines ( http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf ), but it also stands alone as a separate link:

cherilou57,

Although supps are thought to be very helpful by many people, others have found that they're allergic to at least some of them. Please search this site for the myriad of opinions on supplements. I don't take very many at all and never have, as my own personal belief is that too many tend to cause more problems than they solve and most are an expense that is not necessary. (In remission for over a year and a half now, after about 7 years of tx.)

Should you choose to incorporate them into your routine, please do this one at a time so you can be sure you're not having an adverse reaction to that particular supp. A good starting place is if you have muscle twitches, myoclonus, etc., find a high quality of Mg that does well for you. (And the number of opinions on Mg alone can confuse the daylights out of you.)

Good luck.
