My fatigue doc tells me that the Myer's IV boosts the immune system, kills off everything. There are many modifications to the late Dr. Myer's IV.
The FFC uses Vit C (40g), Thymus and glycerrizinate (licorice extract). The downside is you have to find a doc that will do it. Costs $188/ treatment.

For 4 months, I got this once a week, I was feeling better, more energy, less chest rash, less brain fog/depression. Then the funds ran out.

Anyone else have a simuliar experience with a Myer's type IV? [group hug] Huddle Time!

I've had two Myers Cocktails in the past three weeks and did get a boost from it for three of four days. Mine was just the basic cocktail, it didn't have any licorice extract in it.

I understand that some doctors can add additional supplements to it to fit the patient's needs. Mine only costs $65.00. I'm sure you could get it cheaper elsewhere if you looked around.

By the way, I seriously doubt that it "kills off everything", especially related to Lyme disease. But it does help me to feel better for a few days and for that reason I will continue doing it twice a month probably.

That is a huge rip off! There is barely anything in a Myers cocktail. You are probably better off getting prescriptions for B complex, magnesium etc. doing your own shots (it's easy) and taking oral Vit C and saving a ton of $$. Before I knew I had Lyme, I used to get Myers cocktails, and they don't do much. I also did IV Vitamin C and wasted a ton of money trying to "boost" immune function. You can take what you need orally or by doing shots.

My daughter is a dietician, the GI tract only absorbs so much Vit C, that's why Dr. Myer's went to the IV method.
There are many modifications to the basic Myer's IV. Methyl B12, up to 40Grams C, licorice and thymus extract.

I had another one yesterday, big herx, felt really tired, swollen. But today, one real notch better. I have 4 ** bands on Lyme. It's Lyme all right, the IV does something. My fatigue doc told me that it helps other patients too.
I took a day off from doxycycline and it was nice not to have that taste in my mouth.

The Vitamin C in the IV is still excreted in the urine. The body can only take so much of it,. You can do methyl B12 and thymus by injection. IV Vit C screws with your body's insulin production which is harmful and can drop your blood sugar very low during an IV. Be very careful.

I tried basic myers cocktail for only like $50.00. I liked the effects but my veins are just so small I couldnt handle it. I think you can find cheaper somewhere. For the most part, it just gave me a boost of energy but then it wears off.
