I just went through 2 days of HORRIBLE nausea, plus migraine, balance off, hyper, shakey, etc. But the degree of nausea was non-stop unbearable. Never had anything quite like it.

I hope the worst is over. I assume that it's from the IV ceftriaxone I've been doing, plus the high-dose Mepron, Septra DS, and Zithromax. Plus, had to take migraine meds last night.

But I've been doing all of that for quite a while without this much nausea. I am taking Ursadiol. Plus, am doing coffee enemas, liver flushes, psyllium, glutathione IV, etc.

Was a little worried that it is gall bladder problems from the ceftriaxone, in spite of the Ursadiol, plus cleanses. No GB pain though.

Anyone else have this from these meds? What was it? If it's bad tomorrow again, I'll call my LLMD's and also do a more thorough Liver/Gall Bladder Flush.

I want to do Tigecycline, if my LLMD will rx it, and if I can somehow get it paid for, but wonder if the nausea would be this

bad for me?! As it is, I can't do the ceftriaxone every day; it's too much for me---I do it 4-5 days per week.

Liver support - gentle but consistent such as with Milk Thistle - will be less stressful on your liver than a sudden "cleanse"

Good grief! That's enough stuff to kill someone! I agree that checking the kidneys would be a good idea and maybe a liver enzyme panel.

I was very nauseous for my first week or so on Rocephin. I also got a gallstone within 2 weeks but never knew it; no one ever called and told me. I was on Urisodol, too. When I went off the Rocephin it turned to sludge then disappeared. I had no symptoms from it.

How long have you been on these meds? Do you think you could be herxing?

I have severe nausea whenever I treat Babesiosis. The only thing that takes the edge off is chewing on papaya tablets. Health food stores and some grocery stores caryy them, and they are very inexpensive.

Ginger capsules can also help, but when I was really nauseous I could not stand the smell.

Yes, I know it's a lot! I never thought that I could tolerate abx like this! But with a lot of detox, with only doing rocephin 4-5 days per

week, and skipping a dose or two of the orals, when I just can't take any more, due to nausea, I've been able to do it.

But the last two days were murder. It's much better today.

My LLMD does have me doing blood tests with liver function tests every two weeks. I"m not sure if there are kidney tests in those or not.

I've been on the rocephin since early April. The orals since the end of July. Herxing? Could be, but it seemed like toxicity and

gall bladder/liver stuff to me. Thank God, the liver flushes and coffee enemas did the trick.

Keebler, I know what you mean, but I couldn't function at all if I didn't do coffee enemas and liver flushes, etc. I've been doing them as needed for decades, and they allow me to have a level

of functioning that otherwise wouldn't be possible. I could never do such a protocol without tons of detox! I do take silymarin, and other liver protective supplements, too.

Has anyone else had this, and how did you deal with it? Was it indeed gall bladder sludging/stones from ceftriaxone??

Well, I was temporarily better from doing mini-liver flushes and coffee enemas, and taking a two day break from the ceftriaxone and a day or so from my orals.

But now I am back to horrible nausea, headaches, fatigue, not able to sit up much, etc. again. I think it's gall bladder sludging/gall stones from the ceftriaxone---plus the accumulation of all the abx.

I am doing a Liver/Gall Bladder Flush today and tomorrow. That should help. I see my LLMD on Tues. Any feedback from those who have gone through it would be appreciated.

I didn't call my LLMD's office about this, because I have had to call/fax/email about a lot of things lately and didn't want to overload them with so many requests outside of a visit.

Plus, I figured that I want to keep my gall bladder, and I have the tools to do the flushes, etc. But it has been awful. I probably would have called except for the above factor (I know the doctor was already mad at me for so many requests).

" I think it's gall bladder sludging/gall stones from the ceftriaxone---"

I think you're correct!! It's very common for this to happen with ceftriaxone.

Hope you can back off the meds until you see your dr. Take care!

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so sick.

Have you added any new supplements(or new brands), foods, fragrances, cleansers, etc, that might be causing the symptoms?

Are you still experiencing the nausea, migraines, off balance, hyper, and shaky symptoms too? Or is it just nausea now?

Migraines alone can cause all of the symptoms you listed above. Do you typically get migraines? Allergies, weather changes, hormones, foods, medicines, and stress can all cause migraine like symptoms. If you think back maybe you can recognize a trigger?

If the symptoms really are as severe as you are describing them and they are not getting better then you should consider calling your doctor on monday. I know, I don't like to have to call and bother my doctor either, but they need to know when stuff like this is happening.

Try to take it easy this weekend and give us an update when you can.

I thought of a few other things that might help you.

If the other symptoms are gone but you're still dealing with the nausea you could try some ginger. My elderly neighbor loves ginger chews, they have sugar, but if they help it might be worth a try. You could also try ginger capsules or tea. I've tried the chews in the past and they seemed to help some but the capsules didn't so you might need to do a little trial of both.

There is an OTC medication for nausea called Bonine (generic name meclizine), typically found in the travel section of the pharmacy for motion sickness. Some people also use meclizine for vertigo.

Another thing, it might not be your liver or gallbladder that's bothering you. It may be that your newer oral meds have caused stomach irritation. You can try DGL chews (I liked the ones by Enzyamatic therapy brand). Or your doctor may recommend something like OTC Prilosec (omeprazole).

You will want to check with your doctor/pharmacist before starting any new meds like Prilosec or Meclizine to make sure that there are no potential interactions or side effects.

Good luck [Smile]

Thanks, guys. I esp thought it was the gall bladder, as when I did the mini-liver flushes, it helped a lot or took the nausea away. But when I went back to the meds, it came right back. Not quite as bad, but bad!

So we'll see what happens from the Liver/Gall Bladder Flush I'm doing now. I won't go back to my meds, until I've seen my LLMD, and we figure out where to go from here.

Yes, I know about ginger, and I guess I should try it. I didn't, I guess, because the nausea was sooo extreme. I do have ginger. And I did in the past find the chews work well, although there is sugar. It's so unbelievable what we go through.

Sammy, yes, I do get migraines, and I know, you're right, these are migraine symptoms, too. But I've never had nausea this severe and long-lasting with a migraine before. And, no, no

new supplements, meds, etc. At least not in several months. The migraine stuff is probably adding to it, however.

Oh, actually, I did (I think )accidentally take 4 times the dosage of Vicodin that I usually take on Tues. night!!! I do take it with

vit. C, NAC, and vit. E to offset any toxicity. (I usually take 2.5 mg, which is tiny). I couldn't believe it, when I figured it out.
