My new llmd has been on 400 mg of extended release doxy along with 600 mg rifampin and 400 mg plaquinal. Since I started doxy, about one month into it, I have had stomach issues, pucky, etc. Is this due to the doxy and also I burn everytime I go out, whether I have sunscreen on or not. Is there any other drug out there to treat lyme and mycoplasma pneumonie.

OH yes! Doxy is VERY famous for sun sensitivity and stomach issues. Many find that Doryx is easier on the stomach. I know I did!!

Be sure to eat when you take the doxy. (Really, I wouldn't take ANY abx without food.)

There are plenty of other drugs. I know I took very little Doxy during my 4 yrs of treatment.

One that helped me a lot was Biaxin. Then there's Zith.

I don't know what is used for mycoplasma. Maybe you could Google that.

Hopefully, those who are in the know will be along shortly!! [Smile]
