I have 2 amalgams on my left side of mouth. I have has ear ringing on my right ear since my lyme began, and fluterring, echo sounds, buzzing sounds on the left side. It has gone up and down with treatment.

I have been doing abx, like bicliin, and other abx for 2 years on and off. LASt week, I did a VIT C IV , which I do about 1 time a month. AFter that, I took chlorella tabs, 3 tabs, 2 times a day.

the VIt c IV has helped in alot in my lyme, but I notices after this Vit C IV, my ears buzzing intesified, it is driving me crazy.

It can be a die off, since I had this incease in ear symptoms before during treeatment, but it lasted a few days, while now, it has been 1 week.
I also have high yeast via skin test.
So, could this be from my amalgams? did the chlorella combined with the vit C have done this?
My doc says 6 tabs a day will not do it. what do you guys think? I am going to have the amalgams removed, my regular doc said he can do it, but he is not hollistic or specail dentist, and I don't know if he knows what he is doing?

My doc suggested sweet oil drops in the ears. Borrelia are commonly found in the ears of animals on autopsy so he may just have something. Maybe choke them out. Worth a trial.

My dentist lists these as just a few symptoms of mercury toxicity. Ringing ears is there.

Head, Neck, Oral Cavity Disorders:

* Bleeding gums

* Alveolar bone loss

* Loosening of teeth

* Excessive salivation

* Foul breath

* Metallic taste

* Burning sensations, with tingling of lips, face

* Tissue pigmentation (amalgam ``tattoo'' of gums)

* Leukoplakia

* Stomatitis

* Ulceration of gingiva, palate, tongue

* Dizziness or acute/chronic vertigo

* Ringing in the ears

* Hearing difficulties

* Speech and visual impairment

* Glaucoma

* Restricted, dim vision

These are just the ones related to the head and neck!

I had this so bad it drove me nuts but seems to be gone now but I have to warn those that take certain ABX, some that can cause Ototoxicity.

minocycline is notorious for causing ear ringing/buzzing.

Minocycline is discussed in the second thread below. Also, be sure that your audio habits are not contributing to this - those with tinnitus do better with some simple changes such as avoiding head phones and, especially in the ear pods. Loud events can cause more damage when on abx, too.

Wearing ear plugs when around a hair dryer or a vacuum can minimize further damage to the ear nerves.

More in the first two links about that.

The liver play a part in tinnitus, too. Be sure your liver support supplements are in place. Also be sure you are getting good mop-up of the neurotoxins. Eating enough veggies is helpful, too, not just for nutrients but also to help get toxins back out of body.

Read here about secondary porphryia that usually goes with lyme and with heavy metals - and about another type of porphyria, KPU - and what can help.

Beta Carotene is your first line of defense against accumulating excess porphyrins.

Many meds, especially Zithromax can cause ear ringing! I doubt it is from your teeth. Just get the amalgams removed correctly, and take some of that chelator afterwards.
