My small airways are working at only 51%. I can't believe this. My history is athlete/health nut. No predisposing factors.......
I can wrap my mind around asthma maybe, but COPD?
Yikes, could this be a result of TBI illness? I sure hope so, then there is the possibility that it could be reversed as inflammation goes down.
Anyone?

FF,
I had SEVERE asthma for over 40 yrs. When I started getting rid of the parasites and worms my asthma left and I didn't need an inhaler.
Worms can migrate to the lung and cause inflammation constricting the airways.
Hope this clears for you,
Gael

Gael,
Can you send me your e-mail? I don't know how to cut and paste or any other fancy computer stuff. I would like to send you a picture of something that was found on darkfield micrograph last night from my living blood.

I would suspect something opportunistic. I do believe the reason we have so much asthma these days is from the lowered immune systems. I would hit it with vitamin C and E which is known to clean the pipes. And pull it away with charcoal.

My lung function also declined. No asthma. I have air trapping.I think it means the residual air in the lungs is too high.

since 5 yrs. ago when i was correctly dx w/lyme after being misdiagnosed for 34.5 yrs., i too have been dx with asthma & COPD.
on 3 meds for them.
jan. 09 i started using a half CPAP mask, and it has helped keep me from being stuffed up all night and avoiding alot of extra coughing i did all night long.
so during the night sessions, i don't have to use meds for nose/breathing. that's progress

Sorry about the news. Have you been tested for mycoplasma species, particulary m. pneumonia and chlamydia pneumonia? These are often linked to COPD.

I have positive CPN Coldfeet. I imagine that my condition is from infection. I am on steroid inhaler 2x day now. He said (doc) need to keep inflammation down or lung scarring is possible.

I had asthma most of my life, way before LD; but have to say that it has been constant since developing Lyme.

The Roadback or MP protocols for eliminating Cpn (et al) have been helpful to many. Have you already looked into pulsed antibiotics? Talked to your doc about them?
