bummer.

my little horse is doing so well after 3 months of work. so well, infact, that she has started some spooking and bucking. i haven't fallen off yet...but now i realize you can actually break bones-and mess up discs-without falling off.

and i've lost weight and made muscle and feel my seat getting so much stronger.

oh-to be young again...well, at least to have a young body.

i will find out tues. til then i am only supposed to sit. its the only thing that doesn't hurt. no standing, walking, lying, twisting, ....nothing that hurts.

actually-it doesn't hurt to ride-but it hurts to catch her and tack her up...so i can't go to the barn and have already gained 3 pounds in 3 days.

its so frustrating...depressing.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I enjoyed reading about your return to riding. Hopefully this will only be a temp setback.

Great attitude! I know what you mean about doing what you have to do but please be careful so as not to cause any damage in case your pelvis is fractured.

Hope you have a safe trip! Please let us know how you are doing when you can.

i'm in the motel room-i can't believe i figured out how to get on here

lymetoo-guess you missed where i said standing, walking, lying and twisting hurt...but SITTING doesn't-even when i sit on the horse! i rode her a few times like this...but it hurts too much to catch her and tack her up

i was fine in the car-its just the getting in and out that is hard

i fractured it a few years ago(only once) by falling back and landing on a cement step-i fractured the sitting bone

i was tested for osteo porosis a few yrs ago cuz of my age and i was fine...i'm wondering why too

i do take calcium, mag and usually 1/2 a banana a day for potas...i don't know if that has something to do about it

also-i went on a "horse" site and found out that lots of ppl get fractures from riding bucks and spooks like i did-i never would have known that-fractures without even falling off-also torn tendons and ligaments etc

also-i have hla4 so having Bb has made arthritis all over me since my 30s...it was never in my pelvis-someone said now that my knees are metal the ketes aren't happy there so they may have moved up to hips

i'm in vt-it was 60 when i got here and i just went to walk the dog before bed and i think it must be in the 30s...it dropped quick

i did talk to my ortho doc that did my knees to see if he takes care of fractures too-i thought he might only do replacements-but he does and i really like him and he did a great job on my knees...so i've got my ducks in a row...i need to get snow tires on quick tho

talk soon...thanks for caring
