LOL. I don't know why they say it that way. It's a different way of calling a Dr a "Quack". Get it?

It's the word that sometimes projects the rudeness of our forum IMO. Not my favorite term though i'm no fan of bad doctors. I feel poorly educated doctor or unwilling to learn/treat would suffice and help us keep some credibility as a community.
This is because there are some LLMDs who aren't the best either. Sometimes the difference between ducks and LLMDs is a script pad and willingness to write something on it. A good doc should be just that...good in every aspect including diagnostic abilities, intelligence, understanding of best treatment practices, an OPEN mind, etc.

Please,
This forum is far from rude.
Most are just tired of being mistreated. That's probably what got half this board here.

No, the members here are anything but rude. I'm just referring the use of that phrase alone.
Sometimes I think that terminology is what gets others to call this Lymenut at times.
Don't think for a minute I don't despise docs who ignore everything and laugh in your face.

Seek said.. "Sometimes I think that terminology is what gets others to call this Lymenut at times."
I couldn't be the people taking fish antibiotics... or the malaria theory that was proposed ... or the drink your urine theory stuff... or the fact we aren't swallowing the IDSA's GARBAGE that makes them think we are nuts...
It MUST be that we don't call them.. what was it you preferred?...
"poorly educated doctor" or "unwilling to learn/treat" doctor
"A good doc should be just that...good in every aspect including diagnostic abilities, intelligence, understanding of best treatment practices, an OPEN mind, etc."
Amen to that !
And perhaps the ability to say - I do not know but I WILL find out."

Just want to add that if you see the term "duck motel" that means hospital. There is an alligator pit that bad ducks go into to be eaten as well. It's the internet, can't control some of these things.
Duck is a playful term we have had on here for years for doctors who mistreat us. It's actually quite kind considering what we could/should be calling them. They call us Lymenuts, we call them ducks, whatever suits your desires. Some doctors even call each other ducks, so its not too bad. Agree in some cases it is used too much/improperly. Carry on.

In NYC we use that word all the time. Duck this, duck that. "Yo, Vinny, how the duck are you?"
The IDSA can go duck themselves!
Actually, duck, the animal, shouldn't be denigrated by associating their name with Drs who are lyme deniers.
