I'm just starting on plaquenil today and was wondering if any of you had luck/bad experience on it.
I'm taking it with biaxin. When the biaxin finishes, the doc is adding zpacc.(arthimyican).
Look forward to hearing from you.

I'm on Plaquenil. Was just started on it about a month ago though, so I can't really say anything about it yet. Nothing really bad from it, but haven't noticed a LOT of good either. It might slightly help my neck pain, but not for long and not very much.

I just read your lyme story and sounds a lot like mine. I was sick for six months before being diagnosed with lyme via a urine test via ignenex and a low CD57 of 30. My doctor primary told me you need to see a psychiatrist and try some anti-depressants.
Well, who wouldn't be depressed if you didn'tknow what was wrong.
I'm so glad you are getting treated as am I. I've been on meds for three months and only now starting to feel better.
I wish you all the best, JJV

My story is the same as you guys.
Sick for 6 months or so.
I started plaquenil about 3 weeks ago.
I noticed some die-off. I also had a few bouts of insomnio for the first couple days. Literally couldn't sleep.

I've been on it for about 3 weeks. I had the runs badly at first. Now I'm adjusting. I think it is starting to help. I take it with Zith. I need to ramp up to 2 pills a day. I'm only taking one. What dosage do you take?

I take plaquenil and doxycycline.
I haven't noticed any bad effects from it.
You are lucky that you only went 6 months before discovering you had lyme.
It was 21 years for me.....so it's a higher mountain to climb.
All the best to you.

Are you taking the Biaxin still, or are you switching to Zithromax with the plaquenil? Usually it is Biaxin with Plaquenil bu they are similar drugs. Make sure your vitamin B intake is sufficient as well as your zinc, which can cause hair trouble.

liz,
Most of that hair should grow back after treatment.
I've lost a lot of hair too. I'm hoping to have some of it back when all is said and done : )

thanks to all those that responded especially Tabers which is helping me to take the decision to take plaquenil. I'm taking this with biaxin and then with zpac.
