I recently read a post where it was mentioned that Dr. B recommends cipro for mycoplasma. I find that no where in his Diagnostic and Treatment Guidelines. Anyone have additional info in print regarding his recommendation for treating M Pneumonaie?
I ask because my husband's strain is resistant to the tetracyclines.
Thanks!

I did a search for Dr. B and mycoplasma but didn't find anything official from him. In a previous search I just noted a member who stated that Dr. B suggested cipro for mycoplasm but they did not cite the source.

If you know your husband's strain is resistant to the tetracyclines, you might as well try Cipro. The class of drugs Cipro is in can supposedly treat mycoplasmas. Same with Zithromax and Biaxin.
The person might have heard it at the recent ILADS/LDA conference, so it might not be in print anywhere.
