I have been reading about people treating Lyme and it's coinfections with Sea Salt and Vit. C combo. Does anyone have experience with this? Also, can you do this as well as antibiotics at the same time? Kitty

Hi Kitty,
I have been treating with salt/c (sea salt) for over 3 yrs and am almost in remission.
Check out the group at lymestrategies because these are the people that have Lyme that use salt/c. I think some of them also are on antibiotics,

- As Gael says, this helps some. It is important to read all about it first and have your doctor run a few tests and give his/her thoughts about this in your individual case as there are a few conditions that could make added salt unsafe, such as diabetes.
Assuming you've checked with your doctor and have had a basic blood pressure check and kidney function test, etc. Starting low and slow is important and here's a checklist and things to consider before and while on this for your safety - this also answers some questions:

Would this be a good idea to do after I hopefully go into remission?
Let's say here in 9 months I've asymptomatic... and my doctor takes me off of antibiotics... should I go on the salt treatment for a yr or 2?
So that if there is any bacteria left and it finds time to come out and play... I would seemingly kill it with the salt?
Why aren't more people doing this?

Personaly I will never go off of the salt/c or antiparasitic herbs.
Parasites and worms lay millions of eggs, and if you don't keep treating the cycle can start all over again. Also if there is any bacteria or cyst form bb hanging around, the salt will keep it in check.
Most people are afraid of SALT and the bad rap that surrounds it. It is TABLE SALT that is poison because all the minerals have been taken out. We need salt and many people are salt deficient. Check out lymestrategies for more info,
Gael

cane, There is LOTS of info in the archives here about the salt/c protocol and antiparasitic herbs. Go to the search bar at the top of the page and type in
salt/c
Parasites and Lyme
and you should find an answer to your questions. The key is to ramp up slowly and drink lots of water. Join lymestrategies for more info on this,

Richie,
The salt/c and humaworm are 2 different protocols. I have done them seperately(example:
just doing salt/c for months without taking any herbs) and I have also alternated them during the day, not taking them at the same time.
You might not have any results with the salt/c until you take higher doses. 1/4tsp is a small dose, but it is recommended to ramp up slowly.
If you are not herxing when you take the salt/c, up the dose to another 1/4 tsp a day each salt/c and vit c. I ramped up 1/4tsp a day according to how I was herxing.
Just keep going and you should see and feel results soon. Persistence is key.

Do you take them together? I thought I have read people where it did not work and some had a lot of health problems as a result so that scares me. No?
Does anyone know for sure if doing this protocol with Lyme and Babs meds is OK????
