My LLMD insisted that I try IV glutathione. I'm supposed to take it 3xper week until I f/u again in a month.

I took my first dose on tues and again today. Not so sure I want to try it again.

I started feeling extremely tired/sleepy and weak all over almost immediately , only a couple ml's after I started the push. About halfway through I also started to develop intense head pressure, right across my forehead and kinda in front of and above my ears. It was very uncomfortable.

When I finished the push, I felt so weak and tired I could hardly make it to bed.

After sleeping a couple hours I feel OK now, back to where I was earlier in the day, a little better than yesterday but not good in general. Still herxing from my new medication changes.

Do you all think that this is a normal experience with IV glutathione? I thought that it was supposed to help relieve symptoms of a herx.

Why do I experience such tiredness, weakness, and weird head/sinus pressure? Is my body just too depleted?

How long does it usually take before you notice any benefits from the glutathione treatments?

I would love to hear any experiences or advice. Thanks so much!

I have been doing IV Gluth 3 days a week for 6 weeks. I have not noticed much of anything from it.??? Bad or good... Neither...

Sorry..

Maybe it is helping you detox and you are going to feel better and better? I am not sure about why your reacting the way your reacting.

I for sure would talk to you doctor about it though.

Sorry I can help more

I did this med once and had a bad reaction but mine was extreme abdominal pain and swelling. It took about four days before it cleared up.

My LLMD says about 10% of patients experience a bad reacation but in his experience it's less than that.

I was so excited when they put said they were going to give me a dose of it. I thought FINALLY some relief so I know your disappointment. I hope it does help you.

Have you asked your Doc to see if they think it's working the way they expect or if they should back you off a little? With the herxing maybe it's all just too much right now.

I usually felt pretty bad for a day or two after IV glutathione as my body was getting rid of toxins.

After four weeks (one IV per week), I did notice relief from herx symptoms. Two more weeks and I felt better than I had since the whole Lyme saga began.

Unfortunately, then I stopped doing the IV glutathione and I crashed again about two weeks later.

Now that I have a PICC, I can infuse at home and it'll be cheaper, so I've been thinking of trying it again.

Also, I think it helps to push the glutathione really slowly. The first time I had it, the nurse pushed a little too fast for my body and I got pretty dizzy. Slowing down really helped with that.

I get that head pressure thing too. My LLMD said it was fine. I don't think it means anything more than you could be infusing it too fast.

Thank you all [Smile]

Hopefully i'll start feeling better as my body gets used to detoxing.

I thought that I pushed the Glutathione slow enough, over 10min, is that what you all do?

Should I try extending it to 20min? It makes me so sleepy, I don't know if I will be able to stay awake to finish infusing it if it takes that long!

Thank you also for reassuring me that the head pressure feeling is OK. I was worried most about that. It just felt so creepy, like my head was filling up with fluid.

Thanks again, it's good to know that i'm not the only one experiencing this.

I push glutathione over 20 minutes but I am on a really high dose. It can make my stomach a little upset and make me feel slightly dizzy, that is about it.

A friend of mine had her first gluthatione-iv and got a strong herx-like reaction.
This seems to be common and relate to the amount of heavy metal intoxication the body has to deal with presently.

I just had IV Glutathione yesterday: felt really good initially - it seemed to help my back pain for several hours - but then I experienced the fatigue and what seems a herx-like reaction: intensified neuralgia.

From what I understand it is common to feel the sinus like pressure after doing the push.

Toxins are released by sweating- bodies 1st choice.

The second is by way of the sinuses.

If you aren't sweating, then the head will feel clogged.

Some report feeling a warm sensation also.
