I have been doing some research on MMS, wondering whether to ask my doc about it. The reason is that I had success with dioxychlor which seems to be related to it.

For 10 days I was in a hospital in Mexico run by Dr. B. Every day I received IV dioxychlor with vitamin C. I also ate an anti yeast diet.

After 10 days I felt remarkably well....for the first time in years. I continued the diet at home, but eventually relapsed.

I found an old book that I bought at the hospital. It mentions the connection of dioxychlor, CFS and Lyme disease. The book was published in 1995!

My guess is that the doctors from Guadalajara hospital who treated me were many years ahead of the times. And, as usual, our own FDA is so far behind the times that we pay a hefty price for their ignorance. And Dr. B faces lawsuits.

My experience in Mexico was the best hospital experience I ever had, if one can say that. And I've had many! The people were so joyful and so hands on. I had massages from a wonderful therapist. The fellow who put in the IV's sang to me! A woman came in daily to sing for me. Even the people who brought the food were happy and helpful.

How can a place like this be run by quacks? Answer: it can't. I think the quacks in this scenario are in Washington! [Smile]

Anyone have thoughts on this subject?

I, too, went out of the country for an alternative Lyme treatment. [Smile]

Dioxychlor is chemically identical to MMS. They are for all practical purposes the same thing.

Thanks, Dan et al. I think I will look into it. Are there many on the list who have tried it? Any success?

It kills Lyme. My wife used it for a while but stomach problems prevented extended use.

It would have to be used for a long time to get all of it. The same barriers exist for this as other oral medications. It has to be carried by the blood stream to the Lyme. If Lyme is in an area of low blood flow, it is hard to kill it.

I will say, it was the most effective oral treatment we have used. Comparing it to Samento and Cumanda.

It will kill many pathogens other than Lyme also, which certainly can't hurt.
