Hi folks! Now is the time to pre-register for the Mountain View walkathon to benefit Turn The Corner Foundation if you have not done so already - pre-registering is $25 (vs $35 the day of the event), and those who pre-register are guaranteed a walkathon t-shirt (the remainder will be given out on a first-come first-served basis). You can join one of the existing walk teams when you register online, or create a walk team of your own, or you can register solo if you are so inclined.
The walkathon will be held on Saturday November 7th at the beautiful Shoreline Park in Mountain View, walk starts at 11am, registration begins at 10am. This will be a family friendly day with activities for the whole family, raffle, food, bounce house, facepainting, and games for the kiddos (sorry, no dogs allowed at Shoreline).
The walk is a 2k/4k walk, with shorter routes available for anyone who cannot walk as far (or feel free to register and join the fun without walking if you want). Shoreline park has beautiful wide flat paths, well groomed (no overhanging brush), and is just a lovely location to spend the day for a very good cause. There are also boat rentals available through Shoreline Park if you want to make a day of it
To register for the walk, please go to http://www.firstgiving.com/createfootprintsttc - you can optionally set up a personal fundraising page as well, and/or start your own walk team, or you can join one of the existing walk teams there. For more details on the walkathon, please go to http://www.mylymemission.com - our flyer is also available for download there if you would like to help get the word out about the walkathon.
Please help us make our first annual walkathon a huge success by joining us for a fun filled day for a very good cause! Donations of any size are greatly appreciated as well, thank you! -karen

There is also a walkathon in southern CA, San diego that day if you happen to be closer. I think it starts at 8:00 am. Brooke Landau will be covering the event.
I hope I didn't mess up your plug. It's all the same cause
