i think probiotics should be taken right before bed. i'd take the nystatin in the morning.

are you using the powder or the liquid? my doc gave me tons of the liquid but some say not to use it because of the sugar. i've heard the powder is so bad you can't even swallow it. don't know tho cause i've never tried it. he switched to diflucan.

I take probiotics, diflucan and nystatin all together. My doc didn't see any problem with that.

I also use the Nystatin liquid. It may have some sugar in it but it seems to be working for me. The thrush on my tongue is almost gone. Good luck!

do you mean you take them all at once together or at different times during the same day?

my doc said space probiotics separately by at least 2 hours from anything including vitamins.

Sure... but just to be on the safe side, why not space them? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't!! [Razz]

Diflucan and nystatin work on killing the yeast right and are antifungals?

If you aren't supposed to take antifungals within 2 hours of meds or probiotics because they actually kill the probiotics and meds...it would only make sense to me to take them at different times.

Just my opinion...my llmd told me no GSE or Oil of Oregano, Nystatin or Diflucan within 2 hours of anything else.

OK.. now my brain is a mess. I know Florastor is a yeast... but most probiotics are NOT .. right??

So how can Nystatin kill a probiotic?

I would definitely put two hours between Nystatin/Diflucan and antibiotics.

I read somewhere that the diflucan and nystatin can kill some of the good bacteria as well as the bad.

I usually try to take my probiotics before going to bed so that they can have a better chance of colonizing during the night without any interference.

Hmm .why. - anti fungals kills yeast, abx kill bacteria. At same time and then after they absorbed from GI (2 -3 hours later) you put probiotics(and "good yeast" -boulardi) there to take the space.

I cant see how can one space away everything - not enough hours in a day!

I am also confused with this statement. My wife's llmd told her to take nystatin together with abx and she has been.

It doesn't matter when you take anti-fungals and probiotics....what does matter is taking anti-fungals with Florastor (it will just kill it, so don't even bother with it until you are off anti-fungals) and also space out your probiotics and antibiotics.
