My doctor has asked me to start taking high dose of vitamin C (5000 mg) and Malic Acid 3 pills a day. I also take antibiotics.

Has anyone heard of this combo before?

Has anyone had results from it?

Thanks

Malic acid is found primarily in apples. It is supposed to help with fibromyalgia type pain.

Also is supposed to be why some natural docs suggest drinking large quantities (like gallons) of apple juice to dissolve gallstones and kidney stones.

Hubby has taken the malic acid in the past -- think he took 2 or 3 800 mg capsules. Have decided to put him back on it since he has high bilirubin -- I am thinking he might have sludge in his gallbladder and am trying to do things to get his bile to flow better.

Country Life brand at vitamin shoppe is pretty cheap.

Malic Acid will also help pull out aluminum from the body.

My doctor had me get something called, "Triple Malic Acid" from a compounding pharmacy, for aluminum detox, but I've been afraid to take it so far because I'm already herxing.

It might not cause detox symptoms by taking it, but I've been erring on the side of caution.

Thanks.

Seibert - why do you think your hubby has sludge in his gall bladder. I am also on IV Rocephin maybe this will help with the sludge.

Hoosiers - I have not yet taken the 3 a day but even one pill causes a herx for me. It causes strange prickly sensations. I was really surprised. It does seem like strong stuff.
