Hey saw we are in the same state. Wonder who you are being treated by?

I lost 27 lbs and was over weight too at the start of treatment. I had such bad GI issues so I did not really want to eat much. I was really strick on the no sugar/yeast diet too. I leveled off when
I started to feel better after 4-6 months or tx.

I was a little on the heavy side (thanks to 2 kids, lol) before I was dx'ed.

I lost 35 pounds before finally leveling off.

Makes me mad, I got rid of some of my favorite clothes because I figured I'd never be back to my prepregnancy wieght.

I wish I'd lose weight. lol. Lucky dogs. Losing weight while having zero stamina and no exercise tolerance is a miracle.

Four months ago I got some steroids injected in my back three different times because my arthritis doctor thought my herniated disc was causing my leg problems.

The pain was (and still is) so bad I didn't care about the dangers of steroids even though I knew better. Sadly, the shots did not resolve my leg pain problem.

About a month later I got very sick from the steroid shots and could not eat anything for a month. I was nauseated and coughing dry heaves every morning. In three months I lost 60 pounds.

I am doing slightly better now but only able to eat about 800 calories a day. Still losing weight but gaining some strength from taking vitamins (lots of C) and eating according to the Weston Price diet.

Unfortunately, for the past month my stomach has been acting up and I've had gut pain almost daily. My Gi doctor says it's IBS, but I believe it's lyme related.

I've been to numerous doctors and they can't seem to find anything wrong with me. In the mean time, I continue to suffer with stomach pain and continue to lose weight, although, not as much as before.

Some days my leg hurts so bad I wish I could just amputate it so I don't have to suffer with the pain any longer.

Between my gut pain and leg pain I have very little appetite and I continue to lose weight every week. It's pretty discouraging to say the least. I will never, ever have steroids injected in my body again.

By the way, I was seriously overweight prior to getting sick. I just wish after losing all this weight I could feel better.

Gary

I also lost weight. I did gain the first year or 2 of being sick. Starting in 2003, I lost weight. I got my old medical records yesterday and the weight I am now (which is slightly underweight but not my lowest by any means) was what I weighed when I was 15 years old...makes me sad.

I am looking forward to gaining a healthy 10 lbs and keeping it on and feeling good.

Take care,
Ocean

Gary maybe its the lyme settling in your back on the siatic nerve. Since i injured my back with a fall which i think set this mess off. I had major siatic nerve issues. My right leg calf now is numb. Now on my bad days its the small of my back . My biggest issue this go around is weak back muscles, pain and fatigue headaches twitches. And for some reason i can take my meds and suddenly i feel like im freezing ?????

Stacey i emailed you info.

I cant wait to get weighed i dont go back to doc until Dec tho. I know i had lost 30 lbs before i even went to the doc. Have lost more by the way my clothes are fitting and i have a waist Lots of flab. No more spare inflated tire. I know this is a good thing no matter whats causing it.

Seek help the first time when i got sick i gained probably 100 lbs. I had been on a low carb diet and fortunatly lost 65 before gaining that back. Sooo glad im loosing this time.
At first i just wasnt hungry. Unfortunatly thats come back. But i have days im hungry and days im not.

I have always been active and health conscious with about 10-15% bodyfat but started gaining weight a few years back even though my exercise routine and calorie consumption were the same.

I lost 15 lbs after I stopped ingesting Splenda/sucralose.

I lost another 15 lbs after I started abx.

My weight is now where it should be.

Originally my body weight stayed the same, but the comp shifted from very lean to not so lean. Then my gut went bad and I started losing weight. I lost 57 lbs. But have since put 17 lb back on.

I was never overweight.

I've lost 10 ponds since July, and still losing. At first I was nauseous and couldn't eat. Now, I'm not really interested and just plain seem to forget to eat.

This is a relapse for me. When I was origionally diagnosed in 2001 I lost weight for awhle, but within a year it all seemed to even out.

nomoremuscles- we're so much alike. What is your BMI now, if you don't mind me asking? My lowest was around 14 and now it's 16 (normal is 18.5 and above).

Hi LL,

I just calculated my BMI and it came to 21. But, oddly, in the "check off" (height, weight) boxes there was no accounting for gender -- is that right? I can tell you that I look very thin. People comment on it.

I look like Death, only less healthy. I look like Death's sicker brother.

21 though is great nomoremuscles! Congratulations on being in the "healthy" range [Smile] I do hope though that you are able to become stronger and achieve the body shape that you feel healthiest at. I hope it happens soon for you.

Anyone else have a BMI significantly lower than 18.5?

Thanks, LittleLymie.

Yes, I feel so much better after reading that I'm in the healthy range! I don't think the BMI index is worth much, as it doesn't differentiate between male or female, large frame or small frame -- as long as the height and weight are the same the result is always the same.

I hope you get to a good, healthy, strong weight soon, too. This food intolerance and GI stuff is awful. Maybe we could do a reverse Weight-Watchers, where all us underweight Lymies can have a weigh-in, and cheer one anther on for each pound added until we reach our goal weight.

I've been slender my whole life. Since I was 17, I've been a constant 125 lbs and am 5'10"

I've lost 20 lbs and am now at 105, making my BMI 15.1. We're working so hard to get me to gain, but little is helping so far.
